That's all there is to it?

This is so cool, now Paul Allen can just buy Lebron, Kobe, Wade and Howard.

This isn't soccer, you can't just buy players that easily.

I really get annoyed with the boner some people have over Yao. I went to school with a friend born and raised in China, and he just won't shut up about him. Anytime he does something on the court he calls himself yao, even though he is a healthy 5'2". He is covered in Rockets gear and just loves the Rockets, when really he just loves the team Yao plays for. It's really annoying, he doesn't shut up about the guy. When Yao got hurt in the playoffs his facebook status was "FUCK!!! I'm going to go and study history as hard as I can for Yao". And I commented and said "maybe you should study preventive medicine for Yao?".... he is currently still mad at me.

What are they going to do about that Chinese made foot that keeps breaking every season, due to the fact he never gets rest because of the Chinese National Team. So go ahead Lebron. Team up with Yao. And then when your playoffs come to an end every year due to the center having an injury, you will figure it out.

Well, duh. He has a broken foot. The thing is, when it isn't broken, he will be playing. The Chinese have made him play in the past when he was capable, and they will do it again. It is kind of hard to not play when they can make your family go work in slave mines if you say no.

no, he already was not going to play for them before he broke his foot.

and his foot injury isn't as bad this time. it doesn't require surgery, just 8-12 weeks of rest.

When I went to Blazers/Rockets Game 5 at the RG, I sat close to the press section. Naturally, there was a ton of Chinese "press" at the game because of Yao. Three of them had full on Rockets gear. I had a good view of another member of the Chinese press's laptop screen. Her desktop background was a camera phone shot of her posing with Ron Artest at a restaurant. She spent half of the game chatting on IM or on her MySpace page, which was complete with Houston Rockets' background.

I'm convinced to this day that if you really wanted free tickets to any NBA game, you could set up a blog or "news site" of some kind and easily apply for media credentials.

In a few days, you'll be right there with us pal, with nothing more than a lower draft pick to show for it.

And how many times has he broke his foot now?.....

If you don't learn from history, you are bound to repeat it.

not sure what this post is even referring to.

yao isn't playing for china this summer. that was decided before his injury. and his injury is not as bad this time. yao said it himself and the doctors said so as well. there in no surgery and his recovery time is significantly less. if you can dispute any of that, feel free.

The guy has broken bones in his foot about what? 4 times now? It might be 3. What does it matter about "how bad it it is". He is out. Out is out. His previous injuries took him out. All were bone injuries, which usually indicate that a players body is having a hard time supporting the weight being put on it. They are bone injuries which are similar in nature. Unless they find a way to make him stop getting hurt so much, he becomes a player who you cannot depend on for a championship run except in a diminished package, such as a player limited to about 20 minutes a game so they don't get hurt.
