I must be the only one not on the Batum bandwagon. I didnt see anything super-special about him this year. He got limited minutes, wasnt a scoring threat, played good defense....but over all didnt really do much. Now I am not saying he wont be good, he is a rookie and I am just going by what I saw him do, not much. I have been trying to figure out why everyone is soo enamoured by him. I dont get it. I put Webster easily above him and think he would make a great trade piece since everyone is so high on him. I understand that Ruffin and Randolph are FA, I just included them there to use everone on the roster.
I agree with this. Batum's ability as a defender was greatly exaggerated because just about everyone else on our team play poor defense.
Pretty much agreed, but add a middle category "listen attentively to offers" and put Bayless, Webster and Sergio in it. The rest stay where they are. (Actually, I'm tempted to move Blake to "discard" but I think that might be too nasty.
I think most people are enamored by Batum because of his potential. His defense was already the best on the team as a 19 year old, he hit threes at 37%, and he showed poise on fast breaks and finished at the rim. I also think most people see that he is quick and has decent handles (as opposed to Outlaw) and that could easily develop in some ability to drive past defenders (something Outlaw never does). Unless we bring in a star SF, I would like to keep both Batum and Webster, as I am a big fan of Webster also.
