I saw that earlier. All kinds of possibilities

Top 10 picks and their bad contracts.

    #1 - Stat-Bo, Baron Davis, Chris Kaman

#2 - MarKo Jaric, Darko Milicic

    #3 - Nick Collison

    #4 - Andres Nocioni

#5 - Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison

    #6 -Mike Miller

#7 - Monta Ellis, Jamaal Crawford, Corey Maggette, Stephen Jackson

#8 - Larry Hughes, Eddy Curry, Cutino Mobley

#9 - Actually Toronto doesn't really have a horrible contract, but Jose Calderon makes a lot that could be shedded

#10 - Michael Redd, Richard Jefferson

There are players on those teams making more, but I tried to choose players who might be overpaid for a variety of reasons, or older players.

Washington was kind of a weird team though without Gilbert. During crunch time it was pretty much their best 5, which included Nick Young being on the floor. Sometimes it seemed like they had about 3 SF on the floor at once, since Jamison plays perimeter a lot.

Collison is perfect though. He's exactly the kind of backup power forward that we need, and he knows he isn't a starter. The #3 pick would probably secure us Rubio, too.

Yea because the only way I see Thabeet going #2 is if the pick is traded.

I'm having a brain fart, but I seem to recall that the Grizz had, or were planning to have, interview/workouts with Thabeet and Harden. Sounds like they aren't married to the idea of drafting Rubio.

Harden plays the same position as their best player, Mayo. Granted that Rubio plays the same position as Conley, but I'd assume they'd be much happier parting with Conley than Mayo.

Thabeet would fill a need, but seems like a big reach at #2. I'm assuming they won't overdraft for need, but their front office is not exactly renowned for great moves.

going into the last draft, Mayo was billed by both coaches and himself as capable of succeeding at the 1 or 2. He measured out to be the same size as Jarrett Jack...

Oh, I'm not saying it would be a *good* move, but that doesn't guarantee they won't do it!

Actually, I can see a 3 guard rotation of Mayo/Conley/Harden working fairly well. Mayo and Harden both strike me as guys who can be above average passers for SGs, so having them on the floor together part time could work.

I never really thought of Collison that much, but he'd be an ideal back up to LaMarcus. Plus, he's a guy that kills us that would be doing it less frequently if he never faced us... duh.

Solid rebounder, can occasionally hit a jumper, great work ethic... how bad's his contract?

You think Mike Miller is a bad contract? He'd be a great pickup for Portland! Almost as good as Hedo. Mike is good in almost every category except defense. He's a good shooter, efficient scorer, great rebounder for a SF, smart, team player, good ball handler.

But he's also an expiring contract, and the Wolves are not any kind of salary cap trouble.
