Because this is the only part of the site that reminds me of the old S2 I need some non-Wolves fan opinions on how amazing this deal would be. Too amazing? Or ridiculously amazing?
Getting good help around Jefferson is obviously critical to your future. Rubio, if he pans out, could be a great start at that talent. Good luck!
i kind of want to see memphis get better, ive always kind of liked them, and i like oj mayo and mark gasol and rudy gay. Funny if kevin love ended up back in memphis. i think he is just the guy to have around gay, mayo and gasol.
He could be a bust though. Kevin Love already had a good season as a 20 y/o rookie at PF. If you draft Rubio at 2 then Thabeet is likely gone by 6- do the T'Wolves really want to add two guards to their roster? Or would they take Hill based on need at 6? Plus they'll look like complete fucktards if Rubio is a bust and they basically traded Mayo (already really good) and Love (did real solid as a starter and was one of the best rebounders in the league as a rook) and Rubio doesn't pan out. Oh and their current PF just tore some ligaments so I wouldn't be so quick to move a promising young PF. I just don't get why they don't trade the 6 and Foye/Gomes/Brewer/C. Smith/whateverthefuck. Then they get Rubio and keep their 20 y/o PF who did well as a rookie. Who knows, maybe Kahn isn't a big Kevin Love fan or he wants to start shipping off McHale's guys.
The people who think Love and Al will win us a ring at some point down the road are not thinking things fully through. There is no defense coming out of either of them, and they pretty much do the exact same things down there. Slack off and rebound. I guess Rubio has the potential to be a bust, but he definitely fills a bigger need than Love ever did. Love is a good player, a very good player, but he just doesn't fit. Getting the chance to get a great prospect like Rubio, and keep the 6th pick is too good of an opportunity to pass up on.

You never trade big for small. Kevin Love is going to be a double double machine for the next 15 years, and if he and Jefferson could figure out how to play in the same frontcourt, they could have the best young frontcourt in the NBA.
Doesn't seem very productive for Minnesota to take this risk. Kevin Love is a quality big man and still on his rookie contract. He's great insurance for Al Jefferson and gives you minutes at the PF/C position. This a PG heavy draft and with two picks Minnesota should be able to find a starting caliber one. There's also some veteran free agents at PG if they wanted immediate help. Ricky Rubio doesn't want to play for Memphis (allegedly) so there's really no need to overpay for him.
