    ...Spero Dedes and Mychael Thompson did the play by play for the Lakes on TV.

    Listening to their radio clips, it is so much better than Joel and Stu.

    His voice is so much better than Joel.

    Any chance Spero gets on TV in the coming years? Joel is so monotone and boring.

    Hard to say, but Spero has moved up the media ladder fairly quickly. I also hate Joel Meyers, but he has tenure and has the connections to keep his job safe. I'm not sure how the Lakers move to ESPN will effect all their jobs though. ESPN might outbid KCAL & FSN West for rights to broadcast Laker games and show those on parent company ABC.

    I'd like to see Paul Sunderland back too he was one of the best.

    Cant stand Joel Meyers, he doesnt give a rats ass about the Lakers...he also bails on the Lakers on Sundays for football. No Lakers announcer should do other games IMO. Lakers deserve better

    Well if thats true isnt the entire point that we wouldnt know since he got the job

    but Ive never heard that story and dont believe it at all...There are people way higher up making that decision

    I heard there was some shady move by Meyers to get the Lakers gig and force Sunderland out. Sunderland's contract expired and the Lakers didn't renew it.

    Petros has brought it up many times. I'm not sure about all the details, but I've heard Meyers is viewed as a douche amongst his peers.

    I called into "Laker Line" once after a game to express that...Got on air but they cut me off pretty quickly
