dammit. I knew that Minn. had more to offer Wash. Fuck. Alright. Chances at Rubio are gone. Things are getting clearer. It's down to either Blair, Lawson, Curry, or Flynn for me.
Maybe not phooey! Now we just have to persuade Sacramento that they really want Sergio more than anybody in this draft...
Foye & Miller are bench level players on most good teams...Decent players, but nothing special...I think, depending on how MIN drafts they could end up better than WAS, who even with these additions is still going NOWHERE....Grunfeld is clueless.... MIN looks to be rebuilding like POR and OKC have done...not too bad at all...
Mike Miller is a solid veteran player. Foye is still a young prospect on the way up. I don't get why they trade for #5 if Rubio is not there AND they have #6 pick in the draft?
Huh? Swapping #5 and #6 for #2 would be insanity. There is simply no one at #2 who is good enough to justify making that trade.
Agreed. Grunfeld seemed pretty settled with the core of Arenas/Butler/Jamison in his interviews. Though they still have no bigs, they've got some nice perimeter players while getting rid of bad contracts.
There's always Oklahoma. Presti said he's willing to deal the #3 pick for value. I'm not sure what Minnesota is trying to accomplish with this deal. They gave up two starters for the #5 pick in a weak draft. I can't imagine the Wizards are done dealing either. They have a lot redundancy on their roster with this move.
That would be a very good draft for Minni. Great 2 guys to build around with the good post players they already have.
Explain. I think they added guys that have proven they can play to a team that is desperate for veterans in order to attempt a run. That is, if their big 3 can stay healthy.
With picks 5, 6, 18 and 28, and two second-rounders.. looks like they want to go the OKC/Portland route and build through the draft, and like the Blazers, take on a few bad contracts if that has to happen. They've got Jefferson and Love up front. And guys like Gomes and Brewer. They can get some pretty good guards with those 5 and 6 picks.
Not really. He's a good shooter who won't shoot. For a player who was once ROY his game went down the tubes almost as fast as Damon Stoudamire's. Foye's a 'tweener. Now Wash. has a two-tweener backcourt! Maybe they like another PG just as much? Jonny Flynn's getting a lot of love. Maybe he'll get a lot of Love! (It's the way I tell 'em.) Will Harden drop to #5? Who's OKC taking? Let's see: 1. Blake Griffin, obviously 2. ??? Memphis has got to want to move this pick. If they don't, it's between Thabeet and Evans, you'd have to think. Their biggest hole is PF but Jordan Hill is too high here. 3. Westbrook wants Harden. Makes sense. 4. Sacramento takes Rubio... or somebody else. Mystery. I notice that Wash. dumped a fair amount of salary, and not just Etan Thomas. If the only reason the Blazers didn't get the #5 was because they wouldn't use up the cap space, I'll be pissed. This is where the Darius Miles shit really hits the fan.
I see it making sense for both teams in ways. Minnesota: Thomas allows Al to play his natural position. Songalia provides front line depth with a competent veteran. I felt that Foye, just really wasn't turning into what they thought he would be. I don't think the Sergio comparison up above was even near valid, but I do think a more valid comparison would be a poor man's AI. Let's face it. A poor man's AI doesn't cut it. Has Mike Miller really played well in years? IMO he is a spot up jump shooter, where earlier in his career he was more dynamic. Washington: They needed help and a guarantee in case Gilbert goes down again. The players they got back satisfy that. It doesn't really matter, because everybody knows with their lineup made up as is, their season still hinges on Gilbert Arenas health. Foye will provide a guarantee for some at least decent play if he goes down again.
I want in on all this trade action. I've been spoiled with a lot of Blazer activity at this point of the year that I will be slightly disappointed if we decide to sit tight.
We are practically in every trade rumor out there, but it seems like KP is holding tight and waiting til the last minute and holding out for the best deal... or won't do anything at all. But I agree... I want in on the trade action!
It just seems strange for Minnesota to trade and get MORE picks...they have too many in a weak draft already. Oh, well...maybe they are not done and have something in the works with Portland.
