100% right. You just know that Oden is coming into next year like gangbusters. I would not be surprised, however, if this rumor did originate from Portland - just to fuck with the minds of the other teams and distract them from the real stuff.
I wish the draft would get here. My brain won't stop spewing out stupid trade ideas. Like, I keep trying to think how we could get a young PF to send to Memphis for their #2. I keep coming back to Stoudemire, who I bet we might be able to get for some combination of our non-big-three talent, especially as they might value Bayless and/or Sergio more than most. But then I think, Memphis would be stupid to take a risk on Stoudemire bolting at the end of the year. So then I think, but what about if Miami gets Stoudemire and Memphis gets Beasley... You see what I mean?
Probably true, but not 100% certain. There is a chance that Oden could end up never really improving over his career. A small chance, but a real one. My only point with the consideration is that if you could trade Oden for a killer 1 and 3, it might make sense. I don't see that happening with one of the top five picks in this draft (you can't get Rubio + Durrant).
But by adding Harris, they just sink back into mediocrity..a core of love, harris, and jefferson just isnt good enough and with Harris being 27, his prime comes at the same time as LA,Bos,Cle,Sa, and Orl all being elite. They should build through the draft or trade for a younger star that can grow with Love and Jefferson
I think that one of the reasons we'd WANT Rubio is b/c his whole mission in life is to get the ball to big people to dunk. He and Oden and Rudy would be BFFs. If anything, I'd be onboard with an LMA for Green and Rubio (#3), and send Sergio and Travis for Lee S&T. I think that'd make both teams really good.
I'd package Oden for Griffin. Easily. And the Clippers are an organization dumb enough to do that move.
The 100% right was about the assessment that there is no-one in the draft that is worth it - so we are in agreement. You are also right to assume that Oden's recovery is not 100% certain - but seeing how productive he was when he was on the court, knowing that it usually takes one extra year to fully recover from MF and hearing that he is only now starting to do basic things like squats - and I am very confident predicting that many people are going to be eating an awful lot of crow about Oden next year.
Nope. I still am very confident that Oden is going to be one of the best centers in the NBA in the next three years or so, and as much as I like Rubio I think that Oden is a better prospect. Ed O.
Yep. Griffin? Ugh. That would entail putting Aldridge at the 5, I guess, and we go from a big team to a not-so-big team with a single move. Further, Griffin is only 14 months younger than Oden, and I think that Greg has a MUCH higher upside than Blake. Ed O.
Didn't you post that if the Blazers had the chance that they should get Rubio? You called him the best PG prospect since Chris Paul, and put him on the level of Magic Johnson. If your assessment on Rubio is correct, I'd trade Oden for Magic Johnson or Chris Paul in a second.
