It's kind of funny how the whole buyout issue became a self-fullfilling prophecy. Teams seemed so scared of that, not realizing that if he had been drafted in the top 3 or 4, he probably would've taken the hit and paid the remaning part of the buyout himself. I guess falling to 5 provided him too little money to come over immediately. Either way, I think he's worth the wait. Especially since he's only 18, and still playing in one of the best non-NBA leagues in the world.

I think part of the reason Rubio might go back to Spain is because Minnesota picked Johnny Flynn right after, and apparently will not be trading him. Rubio wants to play big minutes, and Minnesota can't provide that since he will have to split minutes with Flynn (and possibly Telfair).

I honestly think its the other way around. They picked Flynn because they figured that Rubio wouldn't make enough money on a 5th pick rookie contract to deal with the buyout.

where is the confirmed source? kevin love is only relying on what rubio's dad said, didnt rubio say he was staying? i thought tim already posted that. anyway if he does decide to go back to spain, well, goodluck at ever gaining the trust of any other nba team, that is a dog move and no team wants some cocky little kid on their team to mess with the chemistry.

if he decides to stay, well that will ensure you make some pretty good money, plus you have a chance at establishing yourself as a conerstone of the future with the rebuilding timberwolves. i say it would be incredibly unwise for rubio to go back to spain, the money is here, the best league is here, your chance of stardom and a large chance of a proper starting role in a young and upcoming team is here, why throw that away, if you stay in spain wolves are going to trade you, then what?

Kevin Love has been spewing out shit all offseason, don't worry about what he says. And as far as his father, that was right after the pick, and there are more recent quote from Ricky himself saying he'll come if we play him, which we obviously will.

    Chutney is right.

Sources: Rubio's choices affected by draft slide
