I'm really surprised at how lop-sided the vote is. Generally speaking, a starting PG is worth a heck of a lot more than a back-up SG! Unless Rubio does a 180 and signs, the T'Wolves wouldn't touch this deal. Either people here really hate Flynn, or Rudy is wildly over-valued.

Right, because Flynn has proven SO MUCH. All high draft picks, before they play a lick in the NBA, tend to be overrated. Flynn might well turn into a good starting point guard, but he's still a rookie who demands big minutes. Portland doesn't need that.

Oh, and Minnesota definitely considers this since they can pair Rubio with Rudy. I have a feeling Rubio is more upset with having to compete with Flynn than with the "cold weather" in Minnesota. Minnesota would kill two birds with one stone with this move, help persuade Rubio to come over, and balance their roster.

Portland shouldn't help a division rival fix the mess they made for themselves in the draft.

No freaking way. Flynn has proven nothing yet and Rudy is a key player on a 54 win team.

Every single person that mentions trading Rudy is CRAZY. Shut Up. Stop. It is not going to happen. And trading him for a point guard opens up a hole at SG. Don't try to tell me Bayless would be the back up or that Webster would be, BS.

Don't be ridiculous. Rudy Fernandez had a pretty good year for a rookie, and I'm glad that he's a Blazer, but he's going to be a backup FOREVER with the Blazers and if Portland can move him either as part of a package as an upgrade or straight-across for a piece that makes sense, I think that the team should consider doing it and probably pull the trigger.

Moving him for Flynn? I don't think so, but talking like he's untouchable is just bizarre.

For the very little I saw of Flynn - I like him a lot - but he still has question marks about him in the NBA and what his ceiling at this level will be. At this point - it makes no sense what-so-ever to even think about a Flynn for Rudy.

I voted yes, but then I realized that Flynn would never get off the bench in Portland no matter how good he actually was.

Nate trusts Blake too much. If this deal was made, as the GM I would know I needed to ship Blake out as well. Otherwise, it was a waste of a good player.

What's wrong with having a kick-ass backup? Ginobli I know is really a starter, but you know what I mean. Rudy is our instant everything off the bench. He probably could and would start for a lot of other teams, but why get rid of him. He will be a huge part of our success in the future.

    Nothing's WRONG with having a kick-ass backup. I'd prefer a kick-ass starter, though.
