    If KP wants him, I think I can get on board. Of course I reserve the right to be highly critical after the first preseason game, if Turkey doesn't put up 80 points, 20 rebounds, and 30 assists.

    I would hope Kirk is one of our last options on the table. I would MUCH rather have Andre Miller or Ramon Sessions. Anyone who actually drives the ball to the teeth of the defense rather than sit on the perimeter and chucks 3s.

    Sessions is very unlikely at this point. The Bucks are definitely going to resign him. I'd rather have Hinrich than Miller because he's better off the ball and is a better defender.

    wow oh my fucking god i hate turk so much. He is such a waste to spend our cap space on. Did pritchard forget about batum, outlaw, and webster. And our future Claver?

    I'm not thrilled about Turkoglu, but for a reasonable price (to Turk, I mean, not to me) I can probably drum up some enthusiasm. He is a reasonably good player, he's just not the impact player he's been talked up as since the playoffs ended.

    That has established Portland as the most determined Hedo suitor on the market, which the Blazers made clear by reaching out immediately in the early, early minutes of Wednesday to Turkoglu's agent Lon Babby. Besides Detroit, Toronto (which would likely have to get sign-and-trade creative) and Sacramento (which would have to show an unexpected willingness to spend) also continue to be linked with the Magic's outgoing closer.

    Be realistic, Hedo wouldn't pick Detroit or Toronto. Portland is his best bet at a championship, and that's gotta be worth more to him at this point in his career than several million a year. Which makes me more sad.

    Hmm... I hope that, if we get Turkoglu, we add another player (PG), as well, because Vince Carter would be a better addition to the Blazers than Hedo at 5 years, $50m.

    Turkoglu + Miller or Hinrich or something else costing as much a year as VC alone would be a better deal.

    Agreed, Turkoglu on his own would be a very puzzling signing, if there's only money for one free agent it should be a PG. But get Turkoglu and add in a vet PG and then we're talking. Preferably Hinrich to compensate defensively, going from Batum to Turkoglu could really hurt against teams with a superstar wing. I wonder if he could be persuaded to come off the bench.

    I think Turkoglu is a better player and a better fit for the Blazers. If we can add Hedo and Miller, we will be set big time.

    Hedo has put up sub-15 PERs in two of the last three seasons and had a 13.2 PER during his "breakout" playoffs this year (with a career playoff PER of 12.4).

    Compare that to Vince, who had PERs of 21.8, 18.8 and 19.8 the last three years and has a career playoff PER over 21.

    Neither of them are good defenders, and while Hedo is two years younger than Vince I don't think that there's any way he's a better player than Carter.
