Here is a comparison of Batum, Outlaw, Turk and Chilldress. The one for J-Chill is from 2007-2008 since he played in Europe last year.

J-Chill looks damn good in comparison to the other 3. He doesn't have the passing skills of Hedo, but he does pretty much everything else as well or better. Add to that the fact he probably would cost less then either Hedo or Ariza and it seems like a slam dunk to me.

Why isn't Portland going after Chilldress instead of Hedo?

    I haven't the slightest idea.

Bucks are going after J-Chill. I bet he would rather play here.

We need a PG tho. Not a SF.

If Portland wants an upgrade at small forward why wouldn't they look at J-Chill instead of Hedo? That's the real question I have.

Of course a PG upgrade would be awesome, but it sure doesn't look like the team agrees with us.

Everyone thinks they are a great talent evaluator. Josh Childress? Are you fucking kidding me? Do you even watch basketball?

I said that J-Chill compares favorably to Hedo. And he does. I also said he would come cheaper. And he will.

I haven't the slightest idea why either of these things would be so false as to be laughable. If you have evidence to back this up, I would be happy to see it.

As you can see from the first post, I have evidence that suggests I am correct. Where is yours?

He watches basketball! That's all the evidence he needs to be able to laugh at your opinions and positions.

He looks REALLY average compared to Batum and Outlaw tbh. Also, didn't he suffer a major injury in Europe? How do we know he can become the same player he was before?

I think at this point it seems everyone is chasing everyone that isn't on our team. The grass isn't always greener.

I will not make an offiical statement until someone compares their PER stats, which is more important than even watching them play! PER!!!!!

Average? The guy is better practically across the board.

    FG%? Best. By far.
3%? 3rd, but rarely shoots and not far behind either of the others.
FT%? 2nd, but only .001 less than Batum.
    Rebounds/game? Best.
    Assists/game? Best.
    Steals/game? Best.
    Blocks/game? 2nd, barely behind Batum.

I think he's head and shoulders, statistically, above Batum and Outlaw... and think he is more efficient than Hedo, as well.

Outside of FG%, he's only beating Travis by .2-.5, it's not that big of a difference...statistically anyways.

His skillset is similar to Batum, from what I've seen, but he's better at attacking the basket.

I watched him in college and the NBA, and he's a donkey. Runs around tripping over himself, has the ugliest jumpshot stroke known to man, and has ZERO toughness.

    No thanks.

If it wasn't for his hair, Josh would literally have no redeeming value at all.

Comparing some Euroleague player to a starter in the NBA finals is funny.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Childress would be a much better addition than Turkoglu, I agree, LittleAlex. He's young-prime, a very good defender and a nice all-around contributor. Plus he's a good decision-maker.

If he were interested in joining Portland and Atlanta were willing to go along with a sign-and-trade for his rights, then I'd rather have him than Turk.

The idea here is that J-Chill would provide nearly as much as Hedo for far less, plus the fact he is far younger then Hedo makes him more attractive. Further, he is available unlike other players I happen to like far better.

If Portland got J-Chill they would still have cap space to make a lopsided trade for a point guard. If Portland signs Hedo, that is pretty much the only move they can make. If that seems like enough for you, fair enough.

Childress would get AT LEAST the MLE, which leaves us around 3 million to work with.

That is far better the the 10 million Portland would be giving Hedo. 3 million dollars is more to work with then nothing, which is what Portland would have left if they sign Hedo for the absurd contract he is asking for.

I would think Portland would look at the guys getting paid the most, find a guy who is under the radar who is nearly as good, and sign that guy for a reasonable contract.

J-Chill is one of those guys, but not the only one. The MLE would be a fair contract for a productive role player on a contending team. 10 million a year isn't.

The more I think about the amount Hedo would get, the less I like the idea. As Minstrel stated somewhere else, you are really signing Hedo for 2 years. The rest of that time will be when his game starts to drop off to the point where he is pretty much useless.

What about the Turk from two years ago? I don't think it would be such a simple choice then.
