Trev was better off negotiating himself, there was just a handful of teams and then the MLE to worry about.

Man, I really feel bad for Trev. He's a stand-up guy and was ruined by Lee.

David Lee got Trevor Ariza way more money than he's worth.

But if he hadn't been bitching, Trev would've signed for LA for a bit more money in a better system with more chances at multiple rings.

If Trevor really wanted to be with us, he'd be. It's sad he chose money over titles but i'm a laker fan so i'm glad we got artest for him.

David Lee could have gotten him the same money from the Lakers, too.

He overestimated his value, and it killed Ariza's chance with us.

Ron Artest is way better. I'm not so sure that Ariza could have gotten that money from the Lakers. Lakers didn't even make him a contract offer, I don't think they really wanted him back. I think they found out in the opening hour or so that Ron Artest was a strong possibility.

Plenty of teams would offer Ariza the MLE, they just thought he would go back to LA. Lee messed up asking for more than that.

He started at 10 million per year and Lee went to the media immediately. His agent sucks.

They made him pretty much the same offer Trev got from Houston.

Lee wanted 8-9 million, and said Trevor was unappreciated, and that the Lakers may not have another chance to talk to his client.

    So Mitch jumped on Artest.

LA offered him MLE money right?

But you got a point Ivey, if Trevor really wanted to stay a Laker, he could've done what Bynum did to Lee and told him to STFU and make a deal. But he didn't. I really did expect him to tell Lee to shut up since he has spent all his life in LA. Maybe he just wants a change of scenery.

Well in defense for Trevor, Drew's contract negotiations dragged on for weeks before he came in and told Lee to get a deal done. Lakers only gave Trevor a day. But still, it had to be done. With Lee threatening that the Lakers wouldn't even have a chance to speak with his client again, with Lebron James and CLE trying to recruit Ron, Mitch had to act fast or risk losing both. He did what he had to do, and the end result is Ron signing with LA. Can't say I don't like the results, even though I'm gonna miss Trev.

But another reason why I have full faith in Mitch to do what's best for the team. He's not playing around anymore. :drumroll:

Yeah, I guess so. Different situation, same horrible agent.

Good to see Mitch not being as passive as before. I'm gonna miss Trev.

His agent brainwashed him into thinking he could receive a 8-9 million/year deal. You can't really blame Trev for getting a little greedy, I doubt very few people would even think about turning down that type of deal. The biggest mistake his agent made was coming out and publicly stating that the Lakers may never have a chance at speaking to Trevor again. That pretty much killed it right there.

I hate David Lee, i Hate him, so much. i feel sorry for ariza that he wound up with such a horrible agent, but also i think behind it all, ariza probably is a bit full of himself, and that attitude would have made him think he is the shit, which he isnt even close to. ariza only just deserves the MLE, the fact that his agent says its not about the money its about respect, but also says that respect=large lucrative contract proves how he is an arrogant, stupid, greedy, hypocritic, malicious whore of an agent. i hate him with a passion, but now im starting to also hate ariza for letting this all happen. fuck them both, we got ron, so good ridae.
