"Four potential all-stars" - I thought you were talking about Portland. Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden, and Rudy Fernandez, plus Hedo Turkoglu would've been a force to be reckoned with next season, in a big way. From a basketball perspective, Turkoglu made a dumb move, and the Raptors made a move that may prove even dumber. I'm not even sure all the players that the Raps have to renounce, but some of them are quite good.
Nelson, Lewis, and Howard made it last year and Carter missed it for the first or second time in his career. In Portland, Roy is the only potential All-Star in the immediate future.
hedo is an idiot if he signs with the raps, but i'll be glad about it, atleast he doesnt resign with the magic. sucks for you guys, but good for the lakers, plus why would hedo want to come back, his stats would take a hit with vc added to the team. but he's going to rot in toronto, waste of time.
I read Hedo wants to play in Toronto because the has more of an International flavor. Yet Vancouver, Canada is just a few hours north of Portland and is a hub for International tourists. Just admit Toronto offered you more and you took the cash.
Vancouver's more of a destination for Pacific immigrants (East and South Asian), and doesn't quite have the European and Middle Eastern presence that Toronto does.
I've never been Toronto, but I've been to Vancouver multiple times. Always seemed to be a diverse city with Euros, Asians, Aussies, and Middle Eastern immigrants and tourists around and about the town. His wife felt Toronto was also closer geographically to their home country. Can't argue with that. It's going to be interesting to see how much Orlando misses Hedo.
