I told you all he'd be back and the next free agent signed by the Lakers. My source said it was going to be a 3 year deal, but locking Brown for two more years is fine by me. Excellent! This pretty much seals Farmar's future in LA.

Shape, what have your sources said about Lamar? I think it looks pretty good for us there too.

Time to ship Farmar out of here.

He'll be back. I think everyone is waiting to see what the actual cap figures are which will be this Wednesday. I wouldn't be surprised if we get Odom for just a little more than we paid Artest. Around the $7M territory.

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH SUNSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this signing, very reasonable price, glad that he is back. I agree that this pretty much cements Jordan's tenure with the Lakers. Goodbye you will not be missed.

I also think this is good news from the Lamar Odom front. Obviously LO is the #1 priority and the management is not stupid. We'll need him especially since Boston just signed Rasheed Wallace. If they weren't confident about LO coming back, I highly doubt they would've handed out this contract to Shannon because they'd need all the extra money possible to bring him back.

Finally we have a PG that I'm comfortable with defensively. Kobe needs to take him under his wing like he did with Trevor and J-Critt.

    Bye bye, Hog face.

If we can only find a suitor. Call up NY, I think they'll be interested.

I'm glad we kept him. I told you he'd get more than $1.0 - $1.5 million, Brian ;]

Not the $3 mil I expected a team to throw at him, but still a nice little pay day for him. Prove yourself, Shanwow!

I hear year 2 is player option. But that's the year we shave around 15 million off the cap, so I don't care.

Yeah, he can opt out at the end of the year if he wants.

If he continues to grow, I expect him to opt out and try to get more money.

    Brown-Kobe-Artest

Wow. Back court that can D up. Then in the paint you got Drew blocking and altering all the shots, and the new and improved Pau/LO.

I have no problem if he wants to opt out next year. Our cap situation will be even better, and this is a great deal for both sides.

I'd worry about resigning LO first before moving onto the LLE. I doubt we use it to be honest.

Odom should sign within the next few days.

The only two teams with cap space to spend on him, Oklahoma City and Memphis, aren't appealing options and they've got players similar to Odom, but with a much brighter future.

Good to see we locked him up. Hopefully, if he opts out next year, his agent doesn't pull a David Lee and try to get more than what he's worth. We don't need another guy leave us after we're the first team that ever gave him a chance because his agent is a douche.

No, Portland is another team, and apparently they have some interest in LO.

Linkage? I don't hear it is too serious. They're checking a lot of things out.

"Despite reports that the Trail Blazers were preparing to make a major bid for Knicks restricted free agent David Lee, a coaching source familiar with the situation said Portland is more interested in the Lakers' Lamar Odom. And the source described the Odom situation with Portland as lukewarm."

Not too serious yet, and they're exploring their options, but I don't think LO signs until it's a confirmed fact that Portland won't want him. As of now, there's still some interest. Who knows how much they're willing to throw at him though.

I really don't see Portland doing anything this offseason. The guy they coveted the most walked away from them because of the lack of Turkish culture there and decided to bolt to Toronto and chill on a bottom feeding team. Plus, it's not like they needed him anyways with the nice talent they've got at the 3, which is why I assume they're not throwing any offers at LO now.

Yeah lukewarm doesn't sound too hot. I think they probably want to go in a different direction, they need to figure out who starts at the 3 and 1.
