Bargs came on pretty strong in the 2nd half of last season. But 5 years 50 million is way too much for Bargs. I'd say 7 million is a fair number. 10 million is disgusting for him.

Did Isiah Thomas negotiate this extension?

That's whack! Bryan Colangelo is putting them into luxury tax territory - before they even extend Bosh. For what? It's not like they are going to be contending for a championship. Hell, they'll be lucky to make the play-offs. Perhaps Colangelo hasn't heard - defense and rebounding win games. Toronto lacks both - big time.

So, next summer Bosh leaves and they are now stuck with TWO big contracts for four more years that will hinder their re-building effort. What the hell is he thinking?

That's a lot of money for a stiff that can barely play. No WONDER Toronto can't get anywhere in the playoffs.

I love the irony of a fanbase that consistently complains that outsiders unfairly criticize their first overall pick without watching him play, only to do the same to another.

Don't mean to throw this label at everyone, but far too many people judge Bargnani without watching him consistently or even understanding his development path up to this point.

What Bargnani did do is score 15 PPG on the 3rd worst team in the east.

Ricky Davis averaged 20ppg but I wouldn't give him a $50 million contract nor call him a good NBA player.

Maybe he wants to ensure they REALLY suck for those next four years and can get some good draft picks!

Of course you're correct. After all, Chuck Swirsky saw him for 82 games and realized he was worthy of his Rookie of the Year vote over Roy.

And then he proceeded to criticize him when he left Toronto for a job with the Chicago Bulls. Chuck Swirsky never had credibility as an analyst, and hardly represented the Raptors fanbase. He was bashed in our city for that vote.

Why are Toronto mods on the Portland board again? Can we not talk amongst ourselves as Blazers fans with out having a cosmopolitan POV jammed at us? Seriously, why do they come to this board? Can't they go to the Knicks board and do this there? First the Hedo trolling, now this. Are they the Raptors police, trolling all boards to make sure nothing bad is ever said about their players or Organization? Get used to it, your GM has that franchise going down a winding road with no road signs. Don't worry about us here.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
The difference is that the advanced stats back up what Portland fans saw in Oden. They don't back up the optimism about Bargnani, unless the optimism is that he's going to be an average player. They still show him below average in terms of production and quite bad defensively.

I don't think Bargnani is a scrub, but between Bargnani and Turkoglu, Toronto has just committed a little over $100 million over 5 years for pretty average production at two positions. Bargnani isn't a terrible player, but that sort of investment is pretty terrible.

Hedo's PER is garbage as well. $10 million for him was overpaying as well, yet some bash Pritchard for not getting him. I'll bash him for offering Hedo that contract.

Good job Toronto. You just totally screwed the rest of the NBA in negotiating contracts with actual good players now. Now agents can look at this scrub making $10 million as a base.
LaMarcus is assured a max contract now.
