    This rumor doesn't add up.

"One rumor floating around had the Cavs sending guard/forward Wally Szczerbiak and forward/center J.J. Hickson to Charlotte for forward Gerald Wallace in a sign-and-trade.

The Cavs hold Hickson in high regard, but Wallace is a stud defender. He also has four years and almost $40 million left on his contract. The Cavs might not want to take on that kind of contract with 2010 looming. That’s one reason it might not add up."

First, the Cavs already have a small forward named LeBron. So, why would they want to take on Wallace and the $40 million left on his contract.

Second, would the Bobcats really be interested in trading Wallace in what is essentially a salary dump? If so, Portland can offer them a much better deal than Wally Szczerbiak and J.J. Hickson.

Ugh.. we can do much better than that. Wheels just had a Charlotte beat writer on his show the other day, and he said they aren't looking just to dump Wallace and it'd take something significant to get him. I wonder if the salary cap numbers have changed some plans for some teams.

If that trade happened, it would be like the whole NBA is conspiring to screw KP over. Wallace for WALLY FUCKING SZCERBIAK??

Yeah that makes no sense at all. Why would the Bobcats want to salary dump?

Cavs would move LeBron to PF if they did this.

I thought Wally's contract expired already.. maybe I'm a year ahead of schedule.

Wally expired. It makes no sense. And please, if you post a rumor, please put rumor in the subject line.

It says in a S/T, so Wally would be S/T to Charlotte.

Brown must really want Wally, because otherwise, this makes no sense.

Not going to happen. Bucher, or someone, is reporting that Anthony Parker is headed to the Cavs. I don't see the Cavs adding both Wallace and Parker.

Lebron is going to get the entire nba on his team to ensure he gets his ring.

Re: OT: Gerald Wallace to the Cavs

I can't see Wallace playing there because he is a SF and so is Lebron. If I see a deal like this go through, then KP gets an F- for this season, draft and all.

No shit. I would, for the first time, be very disappointed in KP. I'm certain though that this was just a floated offer that some agent/reporter got wind of.

That paper looks to me to be the Cleveland equivalent of the Lake Oswego Review.

One thing I know is that the Bobcats were really disappointed that the Cavs picked Hickson right before they picked last year, after the Bobcats pretty much told JJ that they were gonna pick him before the draft.

But for the Bobcats to give up Wallace for Wally and JJ would be a super disappointment for all of the Bobcats fans because Wallace is the closest thing to the face of the franchise.

Windy is the most respected Cavs beat writer, and tends to be pretty much spot on with his inside scoops, so it's fair to say that these rumours are false.
