Totally agreed. It seems like his strength is the draft, and that's about it. I am not even so sure about that anymore.

That's a great point I hadn't thought of/ Next years draft is supposed to be rich in talent. LOL

Apparently KP is taking this money ball thing so seriously that he is being cheap like th A's as well.

I can't help but think of the line in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels:

    "Chill WINNNN-STON!"

We know nothing about what is really going on. Until I hear that Roy is upset from a credible source I will assume nothing is wrong. Otherwise we're just getting all torqued for nothing. Sometimes "Sports Writers" seem more like "Gossp rag writers". This seems like it is stirring the pot during a slow off-season.

Unbelievable that so many jump to, "KP's an idiot", instead of considering the source.

Actually Jason Quick does have a lot of "ins" with Roy, and probably does know about this. I would tend to believe him on this one.

Maybe KP is just working on deals first since he feels confident Roy & LMA will re-sign? The Blazers have only said about 2078539276 times that Roy and LMA are the franchise cornerstones and are untouchable.

I think this is a case of much ado about nothing. It slays me that there are pages of freakout over KP being a failure for something that has not yet happened and that we have no CREDIBLE reason to think will happen.

Hey! I hear that [fill in name of poster] will forget his anniversary! Obviously his marriage is wrestling with failure. Hasn't happened yet but I'm sure it will!

Given that the earliest that new contracts could be signed by anybody in the NBA was yesterday, it strikes me that Quick is being a bit of a drama queen.

What? Like negotiations can't take place before signing? That would be just like saying that businesses can't negotiate until the exact moment a contract is signed. Complete bullshit.

Who said negotiations weren't taking place? All I said was that getting all excited about Roy and Aldridge not being signed yet, when we're only one day into the signing period, is ridiculous. The Blazers have until the end of October, IIRC, to sign these guys to an extension of their rookie contracts. Does anybody really think that the deals won't get done? Stupid beyond belief.

This isn't true! Yesterday was the first day players could SIGN on the dotted line with teams for Free Agency or extensions. Bargnani was the #1 player that year. He sets the bar. Aldridge and Roy are next. It'll happen in due time.

When was the last time Quick was right about anything?? Come on people!!!!

The statement in bold is only true because Portland did not renounce the rights to Outlaw, which would have provided the team with another 4 million to play with.

Portland had more money to play with, they just chose to keep Outlaw instead.

I am not advocating either move, but really Portland could have more under the cap and have chosen not to.
