    PG-Derrick Rose/Steve Blake
    SG-Ben Gordon/John Salmons
    SF-Luol Deng/John Salmons
    PF-Carlos Boozer/James Johnson/Taj Gibson
    C- Joakim Noah/Brad Miller

That team would have an outside chance of competing for the champioinship, and would definitely be at least the 4th seed in the East, and a 50+ win team.

But that jerk Reinsdorf had to let Gordon walk. Now, Bulls still have to make the trade, Bulls probably still could capture the 4th seed (Bulls vs. Pistons would seem like a possible 4 vs. 5 matchup out East now), but I can't see this team contending after making this trade, or having any real path towards contending after this trade, unless one of their draft picks like James Johnson pans out into a star, which isn't all that likely when you're picking at 16.

Maybe Tyrus would be a distraction. However, there's a good chance that the chemistry built up in our locker room could have a positive influence on him, or at least negate it to the point where he may do and say dumb stuff, but it doesn't harm the team.

I remember John Lund from his Portland days. I hated him on the radio.

I don't like sending Salmons to Utah. I think he helps out there starting lineup a lot. Would much prefer to see Tyrus Thomas moving there.

On top of that, Chicago gives up Salmons AND Hinrich in that deal, which leaves them with what, Rose and Pargo as their only two players in the backcourt?

That would leave the Bulls with practically nothing in the backcourt to help Rose.

The Bulls inept front office probably haven't realized that Gordon signed with the Pistons yet.

    No Tyrus?

Weak sauce! I really would have liked to have his shotblocking off the bench.

With Chicago losing Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich (in this proposal) their backcourt is extremely thin. I don't think they'll move Salmons if they trade Kirk.

I want Deng back. Throw in Blake/Outlaw to Utah, and send Webs to CHI.

Kirk/Roy/Deng/LMA/Oden is a dynasty caliber lineup if healthy. That team would be built to contend for years to come.

Please get off the Deng kool-aid.

We're having a tough enough time signing our franchise guy to a long term deal while Deng is about 10-13/per over the next five seasons. Factor in his nagging injuries, why even take that chance?

I would assume we'd be sending Blake to the Bulls or something like that.

I meant they'd have three point guards, and no shooting guards.

I don't like this. We can get more for Boozer and Utah still ends up going broke. Doesn't make sense.

Sounds like Portland is giving up a lot in this deal. I wouldn't give up all our cap space for Hinrich alone. I hope there is more somewhere.

It seems like Utah needs to give something back to Portland. How about we throw in Joel and they throw in Deron? ;-)

Portland would be giving up capspace + Blake or Outlaw.

That's not a lot at all.

    Are you kidding me?

That cap space, in my eyes, is equal to an above average starter! You're talking Boozer and Blake for Kirk Hinrich.

And, we're allowing Utah off easy, by getting them out of their mess AND allowing them to receive Ty Thomas.
