    I'll go Bass.

We don't need to be paying starter money to a backup PF. Going after Milsap essentially would equate to the David Lee Syndrome - Part Deux.

If KP lands Milsap, then look for Joel to be shopped.

I would've taken Bass over Odom for sure.. but if it was between Bass and Millsap, I'd take Millsap. You know what you're going to get from Millsap every night, the guy just brings it.

Millsap. There is no doubt. I love Bass, but Millsap is 5 times the player Bass is.

This is good and bad though. Now Joel is expendable. What can we get for Joel\Outlaw\Blake?

Not even close. Milsap is the superior player and, by tearing him away from our division rival, it's, by far, the next best move.

Millsap is a significantly better player and fits Portland's needs just as well as Bass.

    Milsap > Bass

    ....And it's not debatable.

Bottom line, if we end up with Bass it will be a HUGE failure on KP's part.

Not trading a gold mine in RLEC = Brandon Bass? That's just depressing.

You have to say Milsap because he's just better. But I think this question would be better if it were worded "Could you settle for Bass as our backup PF?" I would say yes.

I'd rather have Millsap, but Bass is a good backup plan.

And where is the SPELLING POLICE?!

It's American English vs. non-American English. The crows is going wild in the US, but the crowd are going wild in the UK. The US allows for multiple individuals acting in concert and then conjugating it that way.

    Millsap + Outlaw + Blake < Bass + Heinrich

    for our current team

If we give Chi a little cap relief in addition to Outlaw + Blake, it's more likely they bite.

I didn't interpret the question as "which player is better?"

    Milsap.

Offering him money gives you leverage with Utah to possibly work out this supposed three way trade that's rumored to be out there, second to that, you end up with Milsap and now have Blake, Outlaw and Przy to use as trade bait to land either a playmaking wing or an upgrade at the point guard spot. The very worst thing that could happen is that the Utes match and end up in luxury tax hell or find themselves being forced to trade Boozer perhaps sooner than they would have liked which doesn't give them much leverage to expect any kind of decent talent in return -- of course they could end up "dumping" him in OKC for nothing but cap releif which would blow nuts by giving the Thunder a legit low post player.

So there's definitely no airtight plan being set in motion, but it's still a solid play given his age, skillset, and the dearth of remaing quality free agents.
