    Yes, and as I said, that seems like a perfectly reasonable mandate.

    Now, explain the connection between Roy's 5th extension year and Millsap's contract, given that Millsap's contract ends before Roy's 5th extension year.

    Expain the luxury tax implications in two years due to Millsap's contract as a back-up, regardless of Roy/LMA getting 4 years versus 5 years. Also explain how extending Oden/Batum/Rudy/Bayless at that time keeps the team under the cap.

    Short answer is, what does it matter to this discussion? You are the one tying Millsap and Roy's contract situation together. I'm saying they are independent.

    Yes, it appears they'll be in danger of paying luxury tax in a couple of years. Maybe they have a plan to do that, maybe they have a plan to avoid doing that. I certainly don't know.

    What is clear is that if the issue with Roy's contract is the 5th year, it can't possibly have anything to do with Millsap, since his contract ends before then.
