Hating the Fake Show and its players, regardless of whether it's conditional or not, is not hypocrisy.

He gave Dawkins a forearm shiver right to the back of the neck and challenged Dawkins to a fight. This was after Dawkins threw a wild haymaker at Bob Gross. Lucas didn't pick fights, he ENDED them.

    It's blind passion.

That makes you one hell of a Blazer fan, but not objective when it comes to talent evaluation.

It's your story, tell it however you like. You're only proving my point.

I'd be thrilled with Odom for a 3 year deal at slightly above the MLE ... now would he go for it? I kind of doubt it.

    Now there's an understatement.

So he want's 10 mil from LA, but everyone thinks he'll move to Portland far 7 or 8?

Gut feeling tells me Odom wouldn't fit the culture here. Deeper gut feeling tells me he wouldn't mesh with LMA in particular.

What's your point? That Lucas was the instagator? Seems to fly in the face of what Chris posted.

I think he'd mesh just fine. Love his game and think he'd be a good fit.

However, the confusion that would result from having to distinguish "Oden" from "Odom" in the play by play would have to make me pass. ;)

LO was offered 30/3, and 36/4 and rejected both.

So I guess he is holding out for a major deal, larger than Millsap's of course.

Re: Odom Available...Make an Offer KP

My point is that people don't want Odom in Portland because he's a punk for instigating a potential fight. However, they love Lucas, who also instigated a fight.

Neither Lucas or Odom almost instigating a fight makes them a "punk" in my book, or is reason to write them off, if they'll help this team win. If Odom would help this team win, that's another issue.

I think it's silly to assume a players character is based off of one snapshot in time during a competitive event where scuffles take place all the time. Just like it was crazy when people were claiming Ariza was a punk and a bad guy because he hurt Rudy (on accident).

Make sense? I'm guessing you'll disagree with something I said, but hopefully I reillustrated my point better this time.

We can't offer him more than $9 a year, so he better hope OKC wants him (which they don't).

We could renounce the euro's and offer him a Hedo-like 5 year $52+ million deal.

Odom's blowing it. He's going to either end up on a team he doesn't want to be on, or getting even less money than what LA is offering.

Re: Odom Available...Make an Offer KP

That's true, I guess I ruled that out because it would be badly over-paying for him (worse than Turk).

I can't see any scenario short of getting a young all-star in his prime that would result in Claver gets renounced

Re: Odom Available...Make an Offer KP

Don't you get the feeling he'll probably end up somewhere for the MLE, just because he's burned so many bridges and doesn't want to come crawling back to LA?

It's the same reason the Lakers lost Ariza. They told him they didn't think he was worth the money he wanted, and once Ariza realized the teams with capspace were looking elsewhere, he decided he wasn't going to give any team but the Lakers a discount.

unless you mean that he can face up from the perimeter you're mistaken. He's put on some weight and suffered some injuries and aging. At 31 dude is no longer quick enough to guard many 3's in this league... he's a PF.

I would support driving his price up though. Since there are precious few FA suitors left, I'd imagine his agent is pleading with the Blazers to do that for him after (presumably) Utah matches. Bleed some $$$ from Buss
