Jennings making Sessions expendable?

That is pure craziness! Give up Rudy and Batum for Sessions? I wouldn't do that ever.

Fair enough on the first, but I don't think Rudy's shown a weak handle. If we don't know what Bayless's BBall IQ is (and actually, I think we do) we don't know what Rudy's handle is. He hasn't been asked to bring the ball upcourt for us. But I don't recall him being picked, and I think he did that fine for Juventut and Spain.

Hmmph. If you're going to do that, then you can make an argument for everything about Bayless is unknown.

I'm with you. Unless Rudy and Batum suffer career ending injuries. Or Sessions makes a Brandon Roy-esque leap to greatness.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Well, scouting reports on Fernandez when he was in the draft said that his dribble was one of his weakest aspects and what might hold him back from starring in the NBA. So far, I'd say that's right. If he could dribble in crowds (and I don't mean like a baby in a mall), his fancy passing skills and shooting would be much more effective. As a catch-and-shoot or catch-and-pass player, he's much easier to defend.

I suppose, but he had documented strengths and weaknesses entering the league. "Basketball IQ" wasn't one of them, to my knowledge. Court vision was a concern, but I didn't read anything that questioned his intelligence as it related to playing basketball.

1: Explore a sign and trade (KP can be doing that now). If Milwaukee does not want a selection from Outlaw/Blake/Bayless/Webster/Picks, then

2: Make a big offer. Either get your man, or make sure Milwaukee pays for not dealing in the first place.

In this business, it is better to be feared by one's competitors than loved.

Rudy stays. He has proven to have NBA skills, and a defined position. Bayless has neither, so far. Both had chances last year, but only one of them really showed us something special. And it wasn't the short guy without court vision.

Is that kind of like when Golden State Bellinelli had a couple of hot summer league games and they smartly dealt Jason Richardson away, I mean that made Richardson expendible in the same way that Sessions is expendible in this thread. :tsktsk:

I think I would keep Bayless over Rudy for two reasons. One is Brandon Roy, Rudy's natural and only feasible position is SG. While Rudy has incredible clutch shooting (something that hasn't been talked about enough), astonishing BBIQ and special floor vision. Rudy lacks in athleticism, strength, ball handling and the speed needed to guard the no hand check PG. Rudy also is not a Small Forward as he does not have the strength or height needed to guard the larger Small Forwards in the league, I think he is even more of a liability at the 3 then the 1. I think Rudy will be a top-flight but not elite SG in this league. He simply does not have the physical gifts needed to be amongst the elite.

Broy obviously is an emerging Superstar and will get the lion's share of minutes at SG. Roy is not a PG or a SF either. Thus Rudy will be getting alot of his minutes out of position and can never hope to play starters minutes like he has stated he wants to.

Bayless is still by and large a mystery. We know he is extremely strong, athletic, explosive, he posses an amazing handle, he has a stellar work ethic and shows great determination. What is in question is his decision making and floor vision. Bayless has the gifts necessary to be a PG in the league but he may never realize that potential. Ramon Sessions has shown that he has tremendous floor vision and can get into the paint at will. He is far more of a known commodity then Bayless but is still a bit of a question mark.

    Sessions>Bayless>Rudy as a PG.

I think if a deal exists to get Sessions and you have to give up Rudy you have to do it especially over Bayless (PG insurance) and Batum who are both at a position of need. I'm not certain about Sessions, but I know that between Sessions and Bayless one of the two will become the PG we need over the next decade.
