Well, I'm not acting like SpanishFly is an idiot, but I think his opinion is ridiculous. That Jeter would be able to shoot over 50% from the field in spite of having no three point range in the regular season is silly to me, and that's really the only thing that Jeter's been bringing to the team.

As for this summer, I don't think that he's been as good as Bayless... and I think that Jerryd has really struggled.

Jeter per 36 minutes: 21.47 points, 5.97 assists, 52% shooting, 0-2 on threes.

Bayless per 36 minutes: 19.81 points, 4.4 assists, 46% shooting, 1/5 on threes.

Jeter has obviously been better, and you can't really compare three point shooting since both have taken so little of them.

I can't really be swayed by stats when there have been three 40 minute games played. Sorry. I'd rather just go with what I've seen.

Jeter is an afterthought on the part of the defenses, while Bayless is really the only guy that opponents need to worry about. Pooh's hit some jumpers and he's got to the line but he really hasn't done anything else, and I don't think that he's been effective defensively or in setting up his teammates.

Get over it dude, Bayless is playing worse than Jeter who is not that good. You make lame excuses but SL has been really bummer for Bayless.

And what has Bayless done? I don't get how what you've seen is Bayless playing better, but ok. Jeter has been setting up his teammates better than Bayless, and it's not like Bayless has been very effective on defense. After he got a couple hand check fouls from his suffocating defense that does nothing, he got beat every time. Jeter has even been finishing better than Bayless.

This didn't contribute and wasn't funny. Plus, he said
and hasn't been talking about Jeter being good, it's about Bayless being bad.

Better. But I phrased my last statement poorly, I should have said it's about Bayless being worse then Jeter so far in this summer league.

I will agree to that, so far, and its summer league. But I would also say that Bayless has shown more in games that count (NJ and Detroit) than Jeter has shown in 2 games of SL. both are too small of sample sizes.

Bayless is doing fine. 18ppg, 4.3apg, and 3.8rpg is good. He has got to work on the TOs, but the they will happen the more he tries to play PG. Its better to get these out of the way now.

Plus he would probably have a few more assists if the scrubs that aren't our draft picks could hit a shot or finish but I'm sure that's already been said (didn't look through past pages)

Actually, he'd be more likely to shoot 50% from the field if he didn't take any three-pointers. Shooting a lot of 3 pointers regardless of efficacy will lower a player's FG %.

Did the author of this thread happen to watch the game Jeter played in without Bayless?

    It might change his opinion.

His first game, he did 7 assists, and like 20 points or something; way more than Jeter in that 8 assist game he had.
