I agree. I think that Bayless has played better tonight, and part of the reason is having other capable offensive players (Jeter, Padgett) that he hasn't had very often this summer league.

Dude, don't jeopardize your position within the circle of trust by disagreeing with the hive mind on the reason-we-will-lose of the week!

Maybe I am being too critical. I've seen JB do some nice things - the things I already knew he could do. Namely Drive to the basket & get to the FT line. I haven't seen him run the pick and roll well. I haven't seen him bring the defense to him and find guys for open looks. I haven't seen him run the fast break.

I just don't see a floor general. I see an athletic guy who can score - an Antonio Daniels type. That wouldn't be so bad I guess.

You guys that thought he played well tonight - do you see the future PG of the Portland Trail Blazers when you watch him?

One of Bayless' TO came on a fastbreak when he made a great pass to Padgett who wasn't able to simply catch a ball, also costing him a great assist.

Another TO came when his pass was deflected off a Spurs shoe, yet the incompetent officials gave it to the Spurs.

He should have had 6 assists, 5 TO's. Still too many TO's, but I thought it was his best game since the 1st game.

Pendergraph looks good. He's good at going after and getting offensive rebounds and putbacks. And he had some nice blocks and took some charges. Cunningham definitely can hit jumpers consistantly, but I haven't seen much more from him. Jeters game reminds me a lot of Bayless.

Pendergraph looks like he has the skill set and athleticism of a young Dale Davis.

Missed the game tonight. I had to search hard to find the final score for a win. If it was a loss this thread would have been twice as long. How pathetic is that?

JB played better because he didn't have to play as much PG.

On draft express, they said Dante was only an average athlete, on another site they say he's "extremely" athletic.

Here's a cool mix of him. First part shows him jumping over a guy in a dunk contest.

Wow.. Bayless had more TOs than the rest of the team combined, but 18 points and 5 assists don't seem too bad.
Pooh Jeter looks like he continues to play well, and could be playing himself into a Euro contract at the worst.

I only watched the first half, but Bayless played the point the whole time he was in, with Pooh playing SG.

Jeter had one less assists, but had 6 less TOs! I guess it'll just take time for Bayless to learn to distribute without so many TOs.

With the injury to Mills, Jeter may even have a shot at making the roster as our 3rd string PG. When Mills was drafted, I said he was basically Pooh Jeter with a cute accent. Of course, at the time, I had no idea that Jeter would be on our summer league team, or that Mills would get injured. Funny how things work out sometimes.

Of course it depends on what kind of turn overs he had. Traveling? Offensive fouls? Trying to force a pass into traffic? Passing to a player who was not expecting it. I didn't see the game so I have no idea.

Was Bayless playing PG the whole game? Or was Pooh playing PG?

Pendergraph outplayed Blair. Looks like he's the better player. :)

Absolutely! I think it's critical that we're able to make these judgments after one head to head matchup. Viva la internets!!
