Kind of a blah show this year. Samuel Jackson is getting to be a bit of a tired act. Wanted to vomit when the camera was going from sports celebrity to sports celebrity in the audience and they showed Sasha Vujacic. And not only did they show him, they stayed on him for a few seconds and flashed his name on the screen like he was someone important.

Sasha Vujacic? Are you fucking kidding me?

Nope, didnt watch. But thats funny about Sasha. I guess you are a big deal if you are a garbage role player on a championship team in Laker land.

I wondered how OSU fans felt about that. On the one hand, it's nice to get the recognition for the program, but on the other hand, isn't it a little bit of a slight to call a home win over a conference foe "one of the biggest upsets of the year"?

As a Duck fan, if we were the team to beat USC, I'd take that as a slap in the face.

    :dunno:

Only a Duck fan would spin it that way.

Any other theam than USC, I'd be with you. To be fair, (much as I hate to admit it) USC has been kicking the collective ass of the Pac 10 for awhile now. In football recently, it's more that Pac-1 and the 9 red headed step kids. Also at the time, USC was #1 and OSU was unranked. I don't perceive it as a slight, but I love the fact that the Beavs think they can beat USC any time they play 'em. It's possible that the players feel slighted and that motivation is the reason for OSU's relative success against USC.

Really? OK, I guess. It just really didn't strike me as the "upset of epic proportions" it was deemed to be. Name me one other situation where the #3 team from a conference beats the #1 team from that conference at home, and it's considered "one of the biggest upsets of the year."

I guess I have more respect for the strength of the OSU program than their own fans do. :devilwink:

not necessarily.. When that win led to so much on the line at the end of the season. That win is what put them in the drivers seat for a Rose Bowl berth. Just like that Harper pick for us was so big against USC last year. After the season was over, that wasnt as big of a deal, but without it The Ducks arent in contention for a probable National Championship berth. Same with that game for them against USC and possible Rose Bowl. Just my two cents though.

Na, let me tell you, the beavs had a rough start to the season, AGAIN, and expectations were low, USC was #1 and no one percieved the beavs to be able to finish 2/3 at that time of the season....

so its ok with me, it was a monumental upset at the time

Agree to that, Do it KP! I like a guy or two on your bench, but without LO the dropoff is considerable.

Good point. Probably was a pretty landmark upset given the context of that part of the season and where the Trojans were vs. where the Beavers were.

Yea, i mean i was there for the last two USC upsets, and the first one came out of nowhere, but last year i expected the Trojans to know what they were getting into and expected them to wax us....

Thankfully it was the greatest weekend of my life :ghoti:

What the hell happened to Sasha? I was raving about the kid after watching him in the playoffs in 07, but he was really nowhere to be found. was he hurt?

in the preseason so thats no excuse...i dunno, everybody calls him a gym rat still so i dont think its cause a lack of effort. He also tried to not just be a set shooter last year which really hurt his %.
