He's soooo talented. I'm just sad to say that he probably won't blossom here. It's going to be difficult for some to remember the situation we're in now when he blows up on another team and whomever we get for him isn't putting up the stats Bayless is. I'm hoping he can help bring us a solid player in return. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Maybe Blake is the goner? Though he's pretty much the perfect backup.
Might want to think about what team would be willing to part with a potential backup 4 for Bayless and change. I still think we want a banger to back up LaMarcus.
The Miller move sure opens up more and more the possibility that Jerryd is not the guy. It's too bad.. I really wanted to see Bayless succeed here.
The ultimate irony, since Indy is the original team that drafted him and took JJ off our hands for him. Wonder if we could coax Indy into sending us Jeff Foster for Bayless. Might have to throw some spare parts in there to make the deal work, but Foster would be a perfect backup for LaMarcus.
Then, trade Joel to Houston for Battier - really makes sense for both teams. New lineup: Miller / Blake Roy / Rudy Battier / Batum LaMarcus / Lee Oden / (3 man big rotation) Balanced roster. Experience and youth. Offense and Defense. Tightened rotation.
How does this give him more of a chance to play? Are you going to play him at the expense of Brandon or Rudy's minutes? I don't think so.
Okay, there is that. But now we can stop pretending he's a PG. I just think that if Steve Blake had gone down Nate would've taken the court himself rather than have Bayless play the point. We know his distaste for Sergio, and yet he played him ahead of Bayless. And Miller is stronger than Blake and probably better suited to guarding the 2G at this stage in his career (as with Jason Kidd), so you could stand to have a Miller/Bayless backcourt.
So now we don't have a future at PG? I can somewhat understand if we didn't want to sign Sessions because we wanted to give the reigns to Bayless, but now Bayless is not the future at the position? Why didn't we just go after a 23 year old Sessions? Makes no sense.
Sessions wasn't a good fit. KP and the Blazers looked at Sessions, but decided his personality didn't fit. I swear I just read that somewhere, but I have no idea where it was.
BECAUSE FUCKING SESSIONS IS NOT AN OPTION DUDE. Why is that so hard to comprehend for all you Sessions fans?
