Does anyone know what time the press conference starts this afternoon? I am hoping it will be televised on NBATV or ESPNEWS. Heck maybe the Blazers will stream it on their site. Any info would be helpful.

I've heard 4pm. Probably carried on BFT. I'll try to bring up the link.

Here's the stream for the station. Haven't heard more on time.

    Yep. 4pm.

When I first heard we got him, I was happy that we had an improvement over Steve Blake. The more I hear him talk (radio), the better of a move I think this is.

You don't greet a backup at the airport. Now, if Blake was going to be at the airport...

I think Nate wouldn't mind running after stops and misses if the team could do it without turning the ball over -- something Miller has done throughout his career -- but yes, I agree that I will only believe it when I see it.

    here's to hoping. :dunno:

    He said that?

I thought he said, "We'd like to run."

    Big difference.

I'm not disagreeing with YOU, but what running team doesn't turn the ball over?

I think that's just part of the deal... more possessions = more turnovers.

You might be right that Nate WANTS to run without turnovers, but that's not going to happen so it's the same as saying he doesn't want to run.

Let's hope Bayless can become a PCjr.

I'm not saying there won't be turnovers, but Miller has pretty consistently maintained his career average, 2.75 Assist to turnover ratio all while playing an above average pace. It's the ability to actual push tempo without making a lot of mistakes that almost has me half-convinced Nate may let this team stretch its legs ... I emphasize "almost half-convinced," I guess we'll see.

    Edit:
For context Brandon's A/TO ratio last year in a slow paced offense was 2.63 and his career average is 2.57
Blake (one of the least mistake prone and least risk taking guards in the league) had an A/TO ratio of 3.125 last year and his career average is 3.0

Wanting to run more is not the same as becoming a "running team." Wanting to push the ball on long rebounds or quick outlets, when you have the numbers and a top fast break point guard, could well get you a few extra possessions and a few extra baskets without appreciably affecting turnover rate.

Running teams, teams that make it a mandate to run whenever possible, take on higher risk in order to change the pace of the game. Running only when you have a clear advantage doesn't change the pace of the game and doesn't have to be significantly higher risk.

Nope. Bayless is an Amiga. It is a brilliant machine - but not ready for the mass market. Hope he becomes more mass market - but a PCjr is no good. Never was and never got to be mass market.

For the record - Patty Mills is a Dell Mini 9 running Linux. Just sayin'

Bayless is a currently an Amiga, but hopefully he becomes a Commodore 64. That was the best personal computing technology of its time and quite mass market.
