Over on Dwight Jaynes' blog he had a really great idea for "Turn Back The Clock" game at the MC. Have Schonely do the play by play for it.

I think that's a great idea! It would be fun to hear Schonely do play by play again.

    So many memories......

Better yet, make Nate coach the game wearing Jack Ramsey pants.

Never should have gotten rid of Schonely. He was our Chick Hearn/Harry Carey/Johnny Most.

The game is too fast for the schonz. I'd hate to see him come back because he left while he still had it.

Thats about how many guesses it took for Shonz to get the name of the player right. Love the guy.. but it was time for him to go. (not the way he was pushed out by Whittsit and co though)

We're only talking about one game. Not a season, not forever. If we're going to play in the crappy old MC why not have Schonz calling one last game or at least part of a game. Don't you want to hear a "RIP CITY!" for once when Roy or Rudy makes a 3pt shot vs that strange screeching noise that Wheels does?

Make it a 3 man booth and Wheels there. Also I've seen and talked with Schonz many times this past season at the RG. He's still very sharp. I don't think he could and would want to do the grind of broadcasting an entire season but he could handle one night.

Towards the end of chick hearn's run, it was kind of sad and cute at the same time how senile he was calling the games. He would frequently mess up people's names pretty badly, even cities and team names...like he would call the Sonics the SuperSooners or something like that.
