Outlaw's minutes are gone anyway - at SF Batum is growing into them as the starter, and Webster/Rudy/Roy take care of the rest.

Cunningham is a PF, as is Pendergraph. I am not thrilled with the backup PF spot, but nobody likes Outlaw there.

No, but you could easily split Outlaw's minutes up this way.

    Travis played 28 mpg

    Give Rudy 5 more minutes
    Give Batum 10 more minutes
    Give Greg 10 more minutes
    Give Joel 3 more minutes

We didn't even have to use any of your cute little nicknamed guys.

Not to mention, Sergio played 15 minutes last year, and Blake played 31. That equals 46 minutes, and I would assume Miller and Blake will play more than that. I would guess 50-55 meaning Rudy or Roy is going to need to get minutes at the 3, so that opens up some minutes for Rudy.

    Replacing Outlaw isn't that hard.

While I agree with most of your comments.. Batum is not ready for near 30 MPG, he still is too much of an offensive liablity. Greg very well could get more minutes, and maybe Joel. but Batum wont be at 28-30

Why don't you think he's ready?

Using PER36 minute numbers, they are almost identical to Travis' when you take shot attempts in to account, and it was Batum's 1st year, while Travis was a 6 year vet. I just don't see what we lose really.

    I agree.

That's why it wouldn't hurt us at all to give Batum the same minutes Outlaw had last year.

well since both arent ready.. to me it comes down to skill set and what the other brings. we lacked a scoring punch IMO with Both Blake and Batum and Joel in the starting 5. someone who can create their own shot. So while Outlaw drives me up the wall about 85% of the time. He provided something we needed. And still do depending on what Webster does.

That's what I was wondering.... sounds awful fishy.

"Hey guys.... just wanted you all to know, we will NOT match anything over 3 million dollars for Sessions. Nothing over 3 million. So if you wanted to give him, say, 3,000,000.01 dollars..... we wouldn't match. We promise. Cross our heart and hope to die."

Assuming for a minute this is true. It would seem nuts not to offer an S & T of Bayless/Blake and/or Outlaw for Sessions, Kurt Thomas and future picks. We could throw $3million on our end.

    PG Miller/Sessions
    SG Roy/Rudy
    SF Batum/Roy/Rudy/Webs if back
    PF LMA/Thomas/Cunningham
    C Oden/Joel/Thomas

That's good depth, and look at the 3 ball % for our PG's! Amazing! Yes, I am fucking kidding about that. Either Sessions can learn to shoot the deep ball or not. Getting in the paint, passing, court vision, running the break and drawing fouls >>>>>>>> 3pt shooting imo. Plus 3pt% is the easiest thing to improve in the game. Pull the trigger KP! Whoever is left of Blake/Bayless/Outlaw can be traded for a backup SF.

    S&T for him, please!

    Miller/Sessions would be God-like!

We got plenty to offer, as imo we still need some consolidation.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Yeah, I'd be pretty happy with a deal for Sessions to back up Miller for a year or two and then take over as starter. As much as I think Sessions can start now, he's only going to be 23 next season, so it's not like backing up Miller for a year or two is an insult or a serious blow to his career.

Agreed. Blake, Bayless and Outlaw all eminently tradable. If we go for Sessions we need to try and pry away Kurt Thomas as well he would be an ideal veteran backup PF/C.

Right he could still easily get 20 minutes a game giving Miller 28 including starting and closing. Of course we might run the Roy/Rudy back court to close things out as well.

Miller/Sessions would in my opinion be an ideal PG rotation. Sessions could learn so much from Miller as they have very similar games really. I'd like to either see Batum become a serious threat at the 3 and/or see Webster return in Sacramento pre-season form and/or get another SF who can defend and shoot the 3 ball. I think we have PLENTY of offense weapons we need a distributor who preferably can defend the point and have a decent A/T ratio.

Well I will have to tell Cleveland the LeBron deal is off if KP won't trade Blake. That's a deal breaker from Cleveland's perspective. I guess if KP won't go for an obvious upgrade in talent and potential then we are in trouble.

This is the reason why we need POINT GUARDS. A good PG gets the ball to players in a position to score; that way the team does NOT rely on a solo artist to get a good look. With Sessions/Miller, the need for a guy to "create his own shot" vanishes.

Pretty much, what we need is a PG, preferably with some defense. At a minimum we need a PG who is young enough to develop with our core who can get in the paint, distribute, draw fouls, hit FT's at a good clip, play respectable defense and run the opportunistic fast break. Ideally a young PG with all of the aforementioned qualities along with a great 3pt shot and lockdown potential defense. Of course we also need a backup PF/C and possibly a vet SF to start or get significant minutes off the bench. It is in my mind a foregone conclusion that Outlaw needs to be on another team by no later then the Trade Deadline.
