The next line... B. Roy: "Then he said Rudy is starting, and that I'm coming off the bench. But I got my money, so I don't give a crap. Let Nate play his stupid games, I'll have his ass fired before February. I'm the franchise now." barfo
Its simply silly to say who is starting/coming off the bench. Let training camp, practices, and preseason decide that.
Team vets. Not veterans in general. You always have to beat out whoever is established, however weak that establishment is.
did jordan have to beat out rip hamilton when he went to the wizards? Is shaq gonna have to beat out BIg Z????
if you think Andre Miller is on Jordan or Shaq's level, or even ever was remotely as dominant as they were... then you my friend, just dont get it
For those of you saying Joel has done nothing to lose his starting spot.....What exactly did Greg do to lose his? Afterall, he was the starter. Blake has done one thing to lose his spot, and that is not being as good as Miller. If we brought in Gerald Wallace, he should start because while Batum did nothing to lose his spot, Wallace is better.
You just found out why the Wizards never made the playoffs with Jordan and why the Cavs will not win the 'ship with Shaq! Good job!!!!! ???/ !!! %%%% ^^^^ &&& **** !
Nate is taking the Phil Jackson approach. Psychological games baby. He is lighting a fire under the ass of his guys and saying,"you gotta earn a starting spot! Nothing will be just handed to you!" Either way, it's who is on the court when the game is on the line that counts.
Allow me to rephrase. Did you just compare Andre Miller's situation in Portland to Jordan's in Washington and O'Neal's in Cleveland?
I'm sure Nate will get right on that. I'd say it's a bit idiotic to demote your starters before training camp. So, Nate proved to me he's not an idiot.
The difference is Nate doesn't end up doing the right thing. If he were playing mind games, wouldn't he say those spots are up for grabs, rather than he already has his starters in place? What he is really doing is saying Blake and Joel don't have to earn their spots.
It will be exciting to get down by double digits once again this season and struggle to possibly pull out games.
I think using Andre to get Oden involved where Steve hasn't been able to do makes perfect sense! Nothing is permanent, we'll see what happens.
