    If we would have landed the 1968 Olympics Portland would be a much different and bigger city so population would have supported the NBA, NFL and MLB. Irregardless, we still would have had PA as owner of the Blazers.

    What's interesting is it came down to Sauvie's Island and Las Vegas where Bugsy Siegel wanted to put his first casino. Imagine if we had become Las Vegas before Las Vegas became Las Vegas. From what I heard it was one of those three-day Portland rainstorm's that chased him out of here.

    If heard that before and recently I read it in Phil Stanford's Portland Confidential which is a great book about Portland's dark side.

    But I did just find a brief mention of it here without digging too far into Google.
