In terms of the amount of posting going on, are we the largest Blazer forum on the internet? I don't really know about much else out there except RealGM, ESPN (we beat both of them by quite a bit), BBF (a graveyard), and O-Live (less of a forum and more of an insane asylum for Blazer fans). I know that BlazersEdge has a lot going on, but I couldn't find a definitive post count. So, are we IT? Like, THE Blazers presence on the interwebs? Or does Blazersedge take the cake?
Well I swear I always hear Wheels, and Mike & Mike always referring to some sort of topic on here; or some general board opinion. So I would assume that this board is pretty popular, if not the most.
I think Blazersedge takes the trophy for largest Blazers web community ... but I'm guessing we hold the titles well in hand for "most obnoxious" and "most gratuitous use of the word fuck" in a forum.
BEdge definitely takes it if you count it as a forum. Their game threads get up into the 1000 to 2000 range in comments. Pretty crazy. But outside of that, I'd say it's here and I much prefer this format anyway. And I'm confident if there's anything breaking, it'd be posted here immediately.
Who said fuck? We don't allow fuck. Anyway, I think we are 2nd to BEdge, but you guys will get even bigger for sure. We have a good community and it will only get stronger.
HCP you look like a mad scientist in that picture. Specifically, Uncle Fester. My favorite uncle, BTW.
Blazersedge.com gets a lot more page views than sportstwo.com does combined. Not that that is a perfect measure of how 'big' the forum is. But Blazersedge has a lot of stuff with tons of posts. There were 1376 posts for the 2nd round of the 2009 NBA draft. During the playoffs, the game day threads would get into the several thousand post range and each had to be broken up into a few sections to keep things semi-readable. They get a ton of posts. http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.blazersedge.com http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.sportstwo.com
Does BlazersEdge have a forum, or are we talking about their comment streams on blog entries? Because I'd say comments are qualitatively different from posts. Comments are generally much shorter, steam-of-consciousness thoughts, while posts on a discussion forum are longer, more organized opinions. Obviously, there are some longer comments and some one-line posts, but I'd say those are the exceptions. It's much easier to rack up quantity when you have exchanges like: Awesome post! --JayBay shows his approval with a grimace. ----Isn't that also how he shows disapproval? -------Yes, but it's a different kind of grimace. ----------Blake shows his approval with a grimace! -------------LOL etc.
