I see a lot of doubters out there now. I find it amazing how quickly people get written off. This guy has all the tools to bring multiple championships to Portland. Most of you wont believe this but I want Portland to win more then u do. Greg has all the natural talent in the world, he just needs good coaching and guidance. Something I honestly don't think he is getting in Portland. I'm not saying KP has not tried giving him some guidance but I strongly believe he has put the wrong pieces around him for him to succeed. I hope this changes but I see no signs of it.

I think the doubters are out there, because its difficult to see Durant tearing it up. I am a big time believer in Greg Oden.. I dont view him as someone who will dominate like Shaq or Hakeep or even David Robinson on Offense. But I do believe he will be every bit as equal as Dwight Howard on Offense as well as better on Defense. I see no reason why in 2 years Oden isnt averaging 18 and 14 with dominant defense.

I believe in Oden, and still think it will work out even though Durant is for real. I don't understand what you mean that KP has not put the right pieces around him. He has a superstar SG, he has a PF that will help spread the floor which allows Odne to control the paint, he brought in a vet PG who is great at lobs and entry passes. Enough with the KP hate, how many more threads can you start that put down KP. We get it, you think he is apeice of shit and has done nothing to help the Blazers, unfortunately most of us don't agree with you.

    me.

no reason he can't put up 15, 11, and 2 in 30 minutes per game next season(those were his per 36 minutes last season) and that's enough to have him in contention for the allstar team with the way the west is right now with yao out for the year.

I stopped believing in Greg Oden when he failed to gave me the Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas in 1968.

we all knew Durant was gonna be for real. But I will say exactly what I said before the draft. Durant is another Tracy Mcgrady. He has some sick sick talent but he will never win a dam thing. And what I mean about putting the right pieces around Oden is

    1. the coaching. complete fail for greg compared to other big men in the league.
    2. Point guard. Just got a lot better but was KP's 3rd choice. FAIL.

Oden is the key to a parade don't fool yourself.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I've been a big believer in Oden since I watched him play in the McDonald's All-American game and at Ohio State. His defense and rebounding have always been remarkable and I think he has tremendous potential on offense. The fact that the scouting consensus, since his junior year of high school, has been that he's the best center talent of his generation only furthers my belief that he'll be a great player in the NBA.

His play in his rookie season wasn't inconsistent with any of that. He had problems staying on the court (the foul problems I expect to be quite correctable, the injury issues one can only hope won't be a serious, recurring thing) but when he was on the court, he was impressive considering that he was a rookie with only a year of high-level ball under his belt and recovering from a knee surgery.

I guess we will agree to disagree on the 2 points, but agree on the last part. Greg is the key to a parade. While I wouldnt say Durant is another Tmac, I view him as more of a Carmelo impossible to stop scorer.

fair enough, I guess we will just agree to disagree like I said. I tend to view him as pretty efficient and lethal as a scorer.

he is lethal. and he will also never win anything. You got to know basketball. I believe KP does no basketball I just think various things get in the way of his judgment. Between moving up and getting Bayless and screwing up the biggest trade chip in the history of the franchise, I just think KP is a bust.

I definitely believe in the big guy -- I won't say he's a can't miss superstar, but I think he still may well be one. Anything less than a rookie of the year award last season would have been less than the crazy high expectations people had set. Sometimes it takes players a few years to find their legs. Jim Paxson rode the pine his first year. Kersey didn't set the world on fire his first year. Neither did Clyde Drexler, Bill Walton, Terry Porter, Rasheed Wallace or LMA. He'd had microfracture surgery. Oden had been away from the game for a year. Same is true for Bayless -- any talk of him being a failure is ridiculously premature too.

Yah, the trading for LaMarcus and Brandon sure was crap.

What difference does it make if it was his 1st choice of his 101st. He got it done, didn't he? That makes it a PASS in my book.

I'm just expecting low and hoping for the best really. Opening night crushed me and scarred me for most of the regular season.

Hope he dominates, but I won't expect it.
