Every time I get down about the Blazer's management, I read a story about the T'Wolves or Grizzlies.

    That always cheers me up.

Kahn hasn't been GM for long but he sure isn't knocking it out of the park right now.

Given how he's holding onto Rubio like a chip, maybe he's playing the investment game. Buy low, sell hi. If you think you can get Sessions on a smaller contract (in which case, from the perspective of his salary hold he might be undervalued) then you do it. Move the pieces for fair value when you can.

Now...signing him out from under Milwaukee to a decent contract will be the real trick.

I suppose he'll be a decent trading chip if they sign him to a reasonable contract and he produces like he did last year.

I remeber when the talk was he would have to be ofered more than the MLE or the Bucks would match.

Either Sessions was overvalued or he is the latest victim of the economy . .. of course at 4 mil/yr, we should all be so lucky to be victims of the economy.

I still think Sessions has bright future in this league. However, with the almost complete lack of interest shown it makes me wonder what I don't know about him.

On the other hand there are lots of star players that were passed on many times in the draft that went on to be stars. On the other other hand (Yes the 3rd hand, what can I say I'm gifted) he is not an unknown prospect, on the contrary he has been in the league for awhile now.

My end thought is that there simply MUST be something I don't know about, likely it's off court or in the locker room.

Or, you sign Sessions to a multi-year deal, Flynn has 3 left, and Rubio comes over in 2 years. Still seems like a glut of PGs.

$4m a year for a PG with Sessions output is a good deal for Minni. If they have a glut of PGs in 2 years - they will have trade options galore.

Sort of like what Portland has with Travis (another very good value for around $4m) this year and the glut of small-forwards we have on the roster.

Possibly. Or, they will be stuck with young PGs and not enough time for them.

Possibly. But given that the will have multiple PGs on small salaries in a league that values point guards - this seems like a good play by Minni.

Of course, there is a chance it will not work - but the same is true with just about any other move they make.

I would have taken Sessions with that contract, rather than Miller with his 2 year/ $14 mil.

    Damn it.

I wouldn't. Sessions lacks Miller's greatest asset, 10 years of league experience.

This gives us options. After 2 years, we'll know whether one of Flynn or Sessions can break out (totally hypothetical). If not, we can move one of them and bring in Ricky. This is quite obviously a temporary move, and I like it a lot.

This misconception is hilarious. We now have 3 on the roster, 4 if you count Bobby Brown, who is basically a combo guard. And I'm assuming we'll be dealing Atkins eventually anyway. Some people just need to pay more attention.

If Sessions hasn't broken out in two years and shown an all-around game, his trade value will be diminished.
