It would take Blake, Rudy, and Joel for Beasley and fillers..maybe even a '10 1st round pick..I have no problem losing Blake b/c of Bayless or Rudy b/c of Martell..but I overvalue Joel and would want to see Greg play 1 full injury/foul free season before placing Joel on the blocks.
I've always thought Blakey was the perfect backup, I just was never happy with him as our starter. I would love to hold onto him in that role.
No it wouldn't make much sense unless we were shipping 'Playless' to them along with Blake. Maybe something could be worked out to get Haslem and Chalmers in exchange for "Blakey" and Jerryd? I'm on a work computer that filters ESPN, so I can't run the trade checker, but my gut feeling is that it might be close.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m2uu6d Yup, it matches up. I would do that trade in heartbeat. I added Outlaw just for good measure Miller/Chalmers Roy/Rudy Batum/Webster Aldridge/Haslem Oden/Przybilla
Chalmers just isn't that good. He's a second round pick with a PER that was a shade over 13 as a 22 year-old rookie. I'm sure they'd prefer to upgrade to Blake while Wade is still around and entering his prime, but I don't think that the Blazers should be all that interested in downgrading at the backup PG spot to Chalmers. I'm CERTAINLY not going to give up on Bayless to bring him and Haslem in. Ed O.
Bayless had a PER of 8.2 and he was 20 year-old rookie who is 21 now. Blake's career high in PER is 14.5, and his average is 12.1.
Chalmers may not be that good, but I'd be willing to downgrade (slightly) at backup PG if it means an upgrade (IMO) at backup PF. So if Miami sees Blake as an upgrade to Chalmers, Blake/Outlaw for Chalmers/Haslem would seem to accomplish certain goals for both teams.
