out for the season. http://ripcityproject.com/2009/09/07/breaking-news-jeff-pendergraph-to-have-hip-surgery/
Since he hasn't signed a contract yet, I wonder if the Blazers do the surgery and take care of all costs? I know they have his draft rights, but are they obligated to pay for everything?
I think it would depend on if they sent him to Grgurich’s summer camp or if he went on his own. I would think that they would pay for it. You wouldn't want even a 2nd round draft pick going down to Mexico for cheap health care.
I wonder what's wrong, I hope it isn't similar to what happen to Bo Jackson. That was such a freaky injury.
I feel badly for JP and hope/think the Blazers will take care of the medical stuff. That said, who else is waiting for DeJuan Blair's no-ACL knees to explode? Brockman's still not under contract with Sactown...
Well, that opens the back up position for Cunningham. I don't know, does Dante makes us anymore tougher than Frye made us?
No crack, just fact. Also you said before you don't even read my posts because I haven't posted here much. Please, don't start now.
Sly is an O-Live legend, hombre. Don't EVEN try to match wits with this cat. He'll run circles around your a.........................
Makes signing Juwan Howard or Stromile Swift more reasonable. Not that Jeff was a critical piece to our season, but we have to have SOME bodies at the 4 for fouls/injuries.
He was a legend long before all the L*kers riff-raff began to trickle in (somewhere around the 2000 WFC debacle).....which, in fact, precipitated the O-Live quasi-meltdown.
Sad news. I was hoping he could make a contribution this year. I hope the team signs him though. That would be messed up if he got hurt and they let him go.
While I feel bad for Pendergraph and wanted to see him play, this should make KP address the back-up PF position. Either Swift or Howard would work for me, although I'd like to see Howard since he's seen about everything between college and the NBA.
