Can anyone tell me what happened in what order? Did he punch his teammate first, or the BSU guy? How much time elapsed between the first punch thrown, and him finally entering the locker room?
Blount punched his own teammate? I got home, flipped on the TV to check the score and saw him being escorted off the field. Does anyone have a full clip of his actions? Something seemed to set him off. He stayed angry for a while it appeared to me. Perhaps it's something more than the BSU player messing with him.
I've never seen an unedited clip that shows the whole incident from start to finish. Did you see the video evidence of a fan punching Blount?
punched BSU guy first, and as he was being restrained, he punched his teammate Embry and probably about a minute MAYBE two between the first punch and the locker room.. but it felt MUCH MUCH longer than that (thats what she said)
I have to imagine that's after the altercation with the BSU player. I don't have much sympathy for the guy. Part of sports is learning how to lose with dignity. Clearly he was frustrated and angry. Just because the BSU fans were riled and went after him was no excuse. He went back to confront them. He had the responsibility to run into the locker room as fast as his legs would take him. Instead he went the other way. Shameful. Just shameful. When you wear a uniform, you represent more than just yourself.
That guy with the chair looked like he was using it more as a shield. If it was a folding chair that you can actually wield to hit someone with, ok. But it was a seat cushion, and the way he was holding it, didn't look like he could actually swing it and hit him. I can see reacting when you see a chair, but maybe not going righ tup to the fans would have been the smart thing to do. Can't really tell on that "punch" either, since Blount is blocking most of the action. You can see the fan raise an open hand in the air, did he slap him in the shoulder pads?
After seeing this video, I went from "he's a liar and should have lost his scholarship, been banned from the NCAA, and at least threatened with prosecution" to "he's a disgrace, but if UO thinks they can mentor him, more power to them, as long as I don't have to see him on national television wearing the any form or abbreviation of the name of my home state." I wonder, will he be allowed on the sidelines?
I could tell this would be your opinion based on your signature. I think they correlate. Do you have low tolerance? Are you a pussy, who cannot take pain? haha
I don't know Blount from any other player at UO. After reading the Chip Kelly article by Maisel, I'm fine with the course of action they've come to. But if I would've lost it outside, say, a bar, or a movie theater, and hit a guy like that...wouldn't I be in jail? Not being "escorted" by a cop off of the field?
