It wouldn't make everyone happy. The only games I can't see (even though I pay for LP and Comcast) are the KGW games (unless I can pick up the other teams' feed on LP). I don't understand why it can't be simulcast on KGW and CSNNW for the games on KGW, but I guess that's just how it is. I'm not saying don't put it on KGW, but that can't be the only solution. And it wouldn't make everyone happy.
by the way ... i sure as shit hope nobody brings up this at the M&G with Kevin Pritchard next week. Let's keep the basketball decisions and the business decisions separate. KP has no influence on those discussions. You would think this would be obvious, but someone actually asked him about it last year. Embarassing.
My first question will probably be "How could you be so dumb as to send out that threatening email and make all the other GMs hate you?"
...or a great sarcastic post. But I guess I can't call it "great" if two posters in a row missed it, huh? For the record, I don't think that "all the GMs" hate KP, either. But I won't let that get in the way of a good story.
No offense taken. Yeah, it was Miller's email, though the national media keeps saying KP. As well as saying that KP's hated among his colleagues, and that's a reason why we "failed" at FA this summer. So when SodaPop asked not to bring up "business" questions, I thought it'd be funny to bring up other business decisions that KP didn't sign off on, but are attributed to him.
gotcha.. I'm sure I killed your joke sorry, and it was a good, sarcastic post... I just screwed it up lol
I don't know if Patterson raped his nanny/girlfriend or not. I'm not defending him, and I'm glad he's no where near the Blazers. Patterson entered an "Alford plea" to a charge of attempted third-degree rape. Splitting hairs perhaps. The outcome may have been largely the same, I don't know. But I think this means he did not enter a guilty plea. Umm....how the heck did we start talking about Patterson in an "I Hate Comcast/Blazers Marketing" thread? Sorry for contributing to the digression. My apologies.
I can think of no more appropriate question than fans wanting to be able to watch the Blazers play ball. Don't tell me he has no influence what so ever about it or that he has no knowledge about it. That's ridiculous.
I agree 100%. If I was going I would question KP about Comcast and would let it be known I'm very upset with the situation.
He gave that issue a major stiff-arm last year. I doubt you'll get him to bite or comment one bit. It's simply not his area of authority. It's still a good idea to voice our anger to KP about it though, IMO. It can't hurt and it might help, in that he surely does talk to all the big dogs at the Blazers. And they need reminded.
Sorry to bring up an old thread, especially for my first post. But has anyone heard anything new on this? After all, the season opener is just a few weeks away.
Good question! The Blazers/Comcast/Directv/Dish situation is very much like our unresponsive government. Nobody seem to care!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at that event with Larry Miller when he publicly stated that if something wasn't done by the end of last year, they would look into taking legal action to rescind the contract. Don't hold your breath though....
Maybe they did look into it, I looked into this thread and see there's still a problem; maybe after two years of no progress they decided to spend a few minutes to look at whatever it was they signed. "I'll look into it" is what I say when I know I won't actually do anything but I want to avoid talking about whatever it is that's under discussion.
