Hey, he was playing great at this time last year too, til he got hurt. I think Channing's game will really blossom in PHX's system.
I love Channing Frye, Im even a huge Arizona Wildcats fan but Channing was never explosive. I agree that he will do well with them though and then there will be a ton of people bitchin about how we never should have let him go.
While I never will think of him as explosive... He isnt as bad as some think. I do admit once though, when my 14 year old brother asked who the worst player in the NBA was, I said Frye
I think we're going to miss him this year. I wish we would have kept him. He's a bargain at the price he signed for. I wish him nothing but the best in Phoenix.
If we had signed Frye, we wouldn't have had the cap space to sign Miller, so I think it was a good trade.
I'm not so sure we're going to miss him on the court, but we'll miss him off the court and I agree - I hope nothing but the best for him. So likable. Very genuine. I'll follow his career for as long as it lasts.
I'm going to make a bold prediction and say that Channing will be back in Portland at some point to take over one of the broadcaster roles.
Yep. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I was going to end my post with "I hope he ends up back in Portland after his career is over." But I didn't even think as a broadcaster or affiliated with the Blazers. That would be pretty sweet.
Channing was and is a much better player than most the kids around here gave him credit for. If given a chance to play consistent minutes, he'll be a good player and make us rue the day we diss'd him. .
Webster and Oden are lookin' great in practice too... doesnt' mean a thing though. Every team is a title contender this time of year.
