MSP also gets a lot of listeners.. but I think a lot of that is because they are in a place where There are a lot of passionate fans about the product that they talk about (with the Blazers, Beavers and Ducks) I wouldnt necessarily say that their high amount of listeners, is because they have a good show.

I dont have a problem with your incessant whining (although you havent done it since you've been back) I just was making a point about your comment about 580 views.

Hilarious. I pretty much agree with everything Mixum said in his original post.

Miller has been a first, second or third option on offense his entire career. But now he isn't? He was the clear second option last year.

Oden, when he really hits his stride, is going to be (at least) a 14-15 ppg player. If he could stay out of foul trouble (a problem that should dissipate, as it does for most centers) he would average 15 ppg per 36 minutes without any improvement in his game at all.

Roy has added about 3 ppg in his second and third seasons. If he does it again, he's at about 26 ppg. You can live without a third main scorer if you have an offensive player like that.

Fernandez was the second best player on a team that just won the European championship. We may yet find a way to mold him into our third scorer.

You really think with all these things going for us we're going to be held back because we lack a third scoring option? I think you're crazy. I think you are living in last year, that the problems in one series against the Houston Rockets will be the same problems we always face. With a team as young and loaded as we have, and with the addition of Miller, it's just not realistic.

If we don't win a championship, it's going to be because an insanely good player just kicks our ass, much like Jordan did to everybody in the 1990's. I'm thinking LeBron, Kobe, Wade, Durant....

What's the best protection against a superstar wing man unloading all kinds of awesome on our team? It sure as fuck ain't Hedo Turkoglu.

    Is it Batum? Maybe.

Let me add one more thing for the Batum lovers out there.

If the Blazers are so sold on Mr Batum... Why in the hell did they whore themselves out by trying to get Hedo? I mean if i was Jason Quick and could ask a Kp a question, "If Batum and Webster are the answer, why did you make Jay Jenson hold up signs and make CDs for Hedo?"

I mean obviously the blazers wanted to upgrade SF but couldnt. Dont drink the KP kool aid. he knows we could do much better at SF. If the Blazers were content with batum... we dont go gaga over Hedo. Its really that simple.

Oh and more thing that irked me this summer. Can Brandon Roy shut up? I mean im listening to this guy in a radio interview in early July saying "Im not signed so I cant recruit free agents." Are you fing kidding me? Ok Brandon... theres a good chance we wont sign our best player. You should be ready to play in Europe. That was a joke. I mean i love Roy but dude... seriously? At leats LA hasnt said anything dumb like that.

That is where you are wrong. Miller IS a legit 3rd option. Dude can't manufacture points, for himself AND for other players.

I try to be fair with my thoughts but problem with lots of posters on here.... you cant have it both ways.

If you wanna develop Batum, you take a risk of him being abused in a playoff series like he was. Where as if you make a trade for a vet SF who fits our window... aka RJEFF, WALLACE, CARTER then you commit to championships now... not later. Right now KP is saying... maybe we will compete in 2011-2012 but with our current roster... we arent winning a title.

Just like at the deadline... if we make a deal... we would be playing in the 2nd round... but we didn't and got bounced. Those same people who were upset we got bounced were the same ones who wanted to keep Bayless, Outlaw and Sergio!

Same thing now with Batum... keep him... but dont cry when we get bounced early. Decide what you want.

I can understand the point that we need a different SF than Web or Batum at the moment, even though I think the two should be able to do an adequate to good job for this season. But to suggest that Webster is a better option just because his of his Offense is wrong. Last year, Batums rookie year, he averaged 18.4 mpg and scored 5.4ppg on .446% FG. Webster, the season prior in his third season, averaged 10.7ppg in 28.4mpg on .422% FG. If Batum played 28.4ppg like Webster, his would have averaged 8.3ppg, only 2.4 ppg less than Webster. But Batum is as good or better than Webster (per 28.4ppg) at rpg, apg, bpg, spg and TO's. He even only shoots 2% worse from 3pt land. If Nate gives him the same responsibilities in the offense that he had given Webster the previous year, I think Batum would likely have been better on Offense. Nate told Batum to concentrate on D and not O, so that's what he did. But as has been shown in Europe, Batum also has shown a good scoring ability. You add to that, that Batum has a higher PER than Webster and is a much better defender, and I think Webster will not be the starter.

By the wway, I wanted a trade at the deadline for RJ, Carter or a clear SF upgrade.

going into last season... some pre season previews called webster an emerging defensive stopper. i think if healthy webster is a perfect fit for the starters

cause if he (webby) can play soild defense and hit wide open threes (batum cant) he takes the role of blake with the 3 ball. then miller can just dish and defend.

it also gives the 2nd unit defense with batum and pryz. outlaw, rudy, and blake score.

I'll actually agree with Mixum there.. We need one of our PG's or SF's to have a shot.. otherwise teams will pack it in on us all game. And make us beat them from outside. With a SF to spread the floor that will make it a LOT easier for Roy and Miller to attack and do their thing. As well as space the middle for LaMarcus as well.

You are a Blazers\Bills fan too? Man, that game against the Pats killed me too. I thought we had it. So far, TO is doing okay too. I mean, he is TO and all. But I think he and Edwards will play well together.

Anyhow, Failzers was funny hahahaha nice man. But you have GOT to know that when we play Toronto, we are going to destroy you :)

And, sad to say, I pretty much agree with Maxi too. Except about SF. Batum is our guy. Watch.

yah bills always let those games slip away. should be 2-0. to be honest its hard to get a real read on edwards. Im still looking for him to put 10-12 good consecutive quarters together. he looks good in spots but just when you think hes a player.. he sucks for 8 quarters. btw.....i fucking despise the pats.

Anyway... i like batum but in time hes a starter.. not yet. if healthy webster fits the starting unit. assuming miller starts. if not then you start batum.

u cant have batum and miller on the floor together unless roy la and outlaw are out there. think about miller batum, la and oden out there. 4 guys who cant shoot threes. simply cannot have that. nate can talk all he wants but im telling ya... if he goes with miller at PG... hes gotta go maretll at SF.

Its either Blake/Batum or Miller/Webster. I choose Miller/Webster. Thats why we got Miller... to upgrade. Webster would have started last year. He looked amazing against Sac in pre season. its nothing against Batum but you have to choose. There you have it.
