If KP thinks he's above the franchise, he sure goes out of his way to meet up with fans. He must have a real low opinion of the franchise if he's willing to put his own ego in check for the fans, but not the players!

Uh huh. Are these unnamed players from the university of I can't remember that Glenn Beck cited?

    About as real.

that read like somebody just drank a glass half full of Pritchard's piss. Why even bother breaking down such a silly POS article? It would be funny to be able to email it back to him mid-season when Portland is 30-10... too bad

What a poorly researched piece of crap. Yes, like any small market team, the Blazers will always have trouble attracting big name free agents. That's the reality of being a small market team and has nothing to do with our arrogant GM and the way we treat our players. If anything, we have a history of overpaying our players. He mentions the whole Mile's fiasco, but he fails to mention THE BLAZERS PAID DARIUS MILES $9 MILLION last season so he could play a few garbage time minutes for that crappy Memphis team. Yeah, we sure abused that punk ass biotch. Who does he think gave Miles that ridiculous contract that he never deserved in the first place?

On the other hand, players like Joel and Blake would rather play here than elsewhere. And, when was the last time we lost a free agent we actually wanted to keep? Our players are treated well and paid well. The only one who would think otherwise is a clueless outsider. Notice his article didn't include a single negative comment or quote from any current or past Portland Trail Blazer. It was all speculation on his part - a total fabrication. In spite of being a much larger market than Portland, Toronto couldn't keep T-Mac, they couldn't keep Vince and there is a very good chance they won't be able to keep Bosh. Rather than make up shit about the way we treat our players, maybe he should be asking why the Raptors can't keep their's.

What an absolutely shitty article. Unsubstantiated statements passed off as facts, unwarranted shots taken left and right, etc, etc. Comes off like KP and the Blazers pissed him off personally for some reason. He's gonna get some heat from Blazer fans.

Dude must not be aware of Swirsky.

He named Rudy, Sergio, Jerryd, and Travis. All four have commented to the press about being mis-used, un-used, or just plain used.

It's hard to argue against his main point that this team is so stacked that there are not enough minutes to keep everyone happy, especially a vet who won't figure into our long range plans.

But I see that as our salvation, since aging vets are why we blew up the team and we should avoid them at all costs. If only someone else in the league had wanted Miller, he would have told KP no and we'd be better off for it.

Overall a pretty accurate analysis of how players view the Blazers in the sense of employment opportunity. Not favorably at all. The author weakens his view by inserting character opinions which may or may not be accurate.

That's only true if the player doesn't think he's good enough to get mins or worries more about his stats than the team winning.

Ouch. You know when I look at this club I see something totally different than what this writer depicted in his article. But is any of this accurate?

But what is KP doing that we are not seeing that is earning these hits from writers? I think his press is worse than Trader Bobs was and Bob was an asshole. Just ask Dwight Jaynes.

Jaynes hated TraderBob because he was part of Allen's "Seattle mafia." For years, he tried to portray Allen as an asshole as well.

As for where this is coming from - remember the names "Ainge" and "Warkentien". Ainge is just a douche. Wark has a valid gripe with the way the Blazers treated him, but he is taking it to extreme. Being named "exec of the year" hsd given him a nice "bully-pulpit" to grind his ax.

Every player wants more minutes. That's hardly newsworthy. The only one of the four that ever asked to be traded is Sergio, and thank god for that. We're better off without his whiny, can't shoot, turnover prone, no defense playing ass.

Funny. I always assumed we blew up the team because we had a massive collection of malcontents and no-talent, ass-clowns.

    Wrong.

All four have at least hinted or alluded to maybe that's what needs to be done unless they get minutes or Nate changes his M.O..

Travis nearly demanded a trade a year ago, Rudy is so upset at Nate's slowball and not being used properly that he talked Rubio into avoiding the NBA for awhile. Bayless has already said several times he needs to "find the right situation". With Webster back, there will be others this year.

When you assume, you make an ass out of yourself.

    I think that's how it goes...:dunno:

But seriously, that's what most available vets are.

    Malcontents with issues nobody wants.

Claim ignorance if you like, it only shows you don't follow the team very close. All were published in the Big O. Travis last summer, Rudy and Jerryd this summer. They were discussed in threads here, and in Travis's case on BBF.

So, uhh, how do you know the reason Rubio didn't come over was because Rudy talked to him?
