OK, I know that KP won't be making any trades now, but I don't post many of these trade ideas, especially this time of year. I just got back from beers with friends and we were all talking fantasy, and this idea came up and I just wanted feedback. Am I crazy? Trade 1 Utah trades Boozer Portland trades Przybilla and Blake http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yervr3p Trade 2 Utah trades Boozer Portland trades Przybilla and Outlaw http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ya6dsy5 Portland could switch from a great D combo of Oden and LMA to a great O combo of Boozer and LMA. Utah might be interested because Boozer has publicly said he does not want to play there anymore. Also, they risk little by doing this trade. Blake and Outlaw both come off the books at the end of the season, and Utah could choose to offer a new contract if they are pleased. Przybilla will have one more year on his contract, and might fit in very well with Utah's system. Portland would be doing this trade only if they really feel that this year they could go all the way. Losing our BU PG would hurt in trade one, but Miller has not missed a game in 5 years and Bayless, Rudy and Roy could be able to cover the rest of the minutes. If Utah would rather have Outlaw, that would be great because Outlaw would mostly be playing PF this seasons and that's what Boozer would be playing. At the end of the season Blazers could try and keep Boozer if they wanted.
Id trade one of those combos for Millsap. Granted, Utah is not going to move Millsap. I just don't think Boozer fits. I think there is a potential of the chemistry cracking on the team by adding him.
I type better the drunker I get. Actually, i really did not have that much, maybe 5 beers over a couple hours. But now I just got back from the bars and am typing quite well. Impressive considering I can hardly walk having at least a dozen tasty vodka's and sodas.
Utah wouldn't do that trade, imo. And personally I want no part of Boozer. Him as a backup would probably cause more problems than it would solve.
I don't see any value for Utah, presumptively they would want salary relief in a Boozer trade yet this has them taking on Joel's contract for $7mil next season. I don't think Boozer would be happy on this team and would probably leave during the summer.
