I'm watching the game and he's da bomb. He's a true gun slinger like Namath & Stabler. Say what you want about him, but he brings out the best of the NFL.
The Minnesota offensive line is amazing. They helped make this evening for him. It's not all on Good Ol Boy Brett.
Minnesota is going to be tough to beat in the NFC though. I think they went away from their bread this evening in Peterson. They need to see to it that he is the focal point of the offense.
lol everyone here in minny bashed favre when they signed him.. then i was there for his first preseason game and he got a huge standing ovation when they announced him.
So for all those who don't like Favre, or like RR7 want to sleep with him, BITE ME! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqamh9gUmMU&NR=1
I'm a lifelong Packers fan and last night was pretty tough to stomach, but I don't hate Brett, his split with the team was five years in the making and he strung the franchise along off-season after off-season until it came to the point where the Packers had some contract decisions to make on some of their other players (like Rodgers) and it all hinged on his decision to retire or not. I loved watching him play for all those years, and more power to him for still being able to perform at this level at nearly 40 years old. The real travesty? Ted Thompson's stubborn refusal to go after any kind of veteran free agents to fill holes on the offensive line created by the departures of Mike Wahle, the injuries to Mark Tauscher and Chad Clifton -- that is easily the worst protection unit I've ever seen. Rodgers is good, but without blocking he's fucked.
Love Favre. I just love the passion he plays the game with. He's kept teams in limbo, but who gives a fuck. If there are teams out there that still want him and are willing to wait for him, let him do whatever he wants. He's good for the game of football and he's fun to watch. Last night was fucking awesome. The old man still has a rocket arm.
