Chicago would have been a fine place for the olympics, I agree with Georege. But the fact is, the states have had it twice in the last 30 years. It was good for Rio to get it. Good for them.

Holy Crike. All we've been hearing for the last two years is how Obama is going to change everything--our healthcare, our economy, our racial tensions, and our image in the world. Every liberal in the country has been screaming about how much better off we are since Obama came to power. So . . . when his big moment on the world stage came, he flunked.

Why wouldn't conservatives point this out?? When you get the 'savior of the world' crap rubbed in your face long enough, this kind of a comedown feels about right.

The fact is, there were probably more important things he could have put his professional resources towards, yet he chose to focus his resources on Chicago and the olympics and like you said, he failed. He did not come home with them. To me, I think it's a sign.

I don't think it looks good on him personally. Or it didn't look good It's in the past now.

Chicago was a favorite before Barry's speech. I guess he really did bring "change".

Why would Bush have talked to the IOC before the IOC vote?

You're reaching, and it actually shows how Obama did get embarrassed by this vote.

Bush didn't give a live speech stating how he loved New York, and how the IOC should award New York the Olympics because the the new America that his presidency has created.

You're reaching, and it's a bit pathetic. Obama failed on this, and you can bet he is somewhat embarrassed by it. He used up a lot of his "charisma capital" on this one.

Plus, the world "hated" Bush, so of course they would vote against him. They love Obama, remember?

Hopefully Barack is starting to get a sense of reality of the world he lives in. He can kiss as much ass as he likes, it's not going to change anything. If anything, it makes him look more like a fool for thinking that his overall aura would have an impact on the world.

The world might have hated Bush but atleast he had a deep sense of reality of it. He and Cheney both. Just go on with your business and act in the best interests of america and not the rest of the world.
