Too bad the Comcast games won't be streamed before the 1st of the new year. But this is great news for Blazer fans, nonetheless
Soak the fans? I ditched Comcast because I hate those motherfuckers and refuse to give them one more red cent -- the only reason I subscribed was to get Blazers games anyway -- I'll happily pay a small subscription fee to the Blazers if it means I can get the games I want to watch. Bandwidth aint free.
Since Larry Miller didn't state that it is going to be free, I think it's safe to assume that there will be a cost to the consumer.
Larry Miller just confirmed that there will be a cost, but no further details have been provided yet. So we will have to wait a little longer to see how much it'll cost us.
I can't imagine it'll be more than the NBA League pass, which is 120$ for the year. Perhaps it'll be 1/32 the cost? ;]
Sounds like they just read MARIS's e-mail too... "Did I just hear the president of the Trail Blazers say he would charge people to view the games online? That's sad."
Mike Barrett just explained that the Blazers actually have to pay the NBA to stream the games, so the cost of this might be more than nominal. Crap!
Mine was the very first email read, about the proof being in the pudding. He didn't answer the question, he just danced around it.
The Blazers will be the first team to stream games, so they really are "trail blazers" on this venture. I guess we should feel lucky to have this option.
