Actually, Michael Moore is another great example. Would anyone have a problem with him as a part owner of the Detroit Lions? I wouldn't.

Frankly, I really don't care who owns a sports franchise so long as they are relatively able to be a responsible owner with respect to the sport.

As to Rush having once had a problem with RX, I can tell you over 60% of the Congress have some sort of police records. And I'll bet that a similar number of sports franchise owners do as well. Why were they let in?

I would have a serious problem with Rush owning the Blazers . . . other than that, I don't care if he owns a professional team.

Funny, Rush used to call drug addicts the lowest form of society with no ability to control their own actions.

After he gets popped buying drugs on the street . . . he now "once had a problem with prescption drugs"

I wonder if he still feels the same way about marijuana smokers?

"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

Does Al have the bucks? If he did, I don't see a problem with him owning a team. And my only condition for Jesse Jackson owning a team is that it either has to be the Jets or Giants and they have to change from "New York" to "Hymietown".

Here’s 10 Racist Rush Limbaugh Quotes

    1. I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

    2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

    3. Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

    4. Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.

    5. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

    6. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.

    7. They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?

    8. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

    9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.

    10. Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.

I believe a lot of the owners would have an issue with Sharpton or Jackson being an owner or part owner as well. Not to say it makes them as republican as Limbaugh is, but NFL owners donated way more money to republicans than democrats. I doubt a lot of the owners care if he is a Republican, if he can make them money.

right... because NFL owners are known for being a collection of bleeding heart liberals

it's pretty obvious why the owners don't want to count among their members a very public figure who has made so many stupid racial comments. 75% of the league is African American. Very clearly as individuals and through their union, players aren't on-board with his BS. Dude stirs the pot with a lot of racial garbage for a living and thats the last thing the owners want reflecting on them. I'd guess they want to stay behind the scenes and run their wildly successful business without that sort of distraction.

so I take it you didn't bother to click my first link in the OP? Roger didn't seem to leave much doubt as to how he feels or why.

Would he have some of his players to call him Master?

Rush Limbaugh needs to stop breathing.

Master can be appropriate at times. Look nothing wrong with slavery, slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

    That's an interesting thought.

I don't listen to him, but have seen him interviewed many times and I wonder what kind of an owner of the Blazers he'd make.

Hmm, sounds pretty racist to me.
I think comments like these played a bigger part in Limbaugh's rejection than his conservative views.
