    Re: Hendo to Strikeforce

I had a feeling this would happen, honestly.

I didn't think the UFC would pay Dan what he wanted, or close to it and I knew they wouldn't give him his shot @ Anderson, again.

    Re: Hendo to Strikeforce

I'm curious what Strikeforce would offer.

The UFC MW contender situation is kind of messed up.

imo Marquardt and Hendo are more deserving than Belfort, but they've both already had shots against Anderson, and it's kind of up in the air how much longer Anderson will stay at MW.

I just don't like how Belfort got the shot without even having a bout @ 185 in the UFC.

    Re: Hendo to Strikeforce

He's a former champ, though. It's not like Patrick Cote and Thales Leites lit up the division before getting their shots. Three or four average wins for Belfort doesn't mean much. He's already proven himself, even if his record has been spotty for the last few years.

You can't blame Dan for wanting to get a big payout. At his age he might only keep fighting two, three more years. He probably wants this contract to be his retirement fund.

If he can get it from Strikeforce/Dream, more power to him.

Hendo-Moussasi and Hendo-Nick Diaz sound fun. Is Diaz officially done with strikeforce or what though?

I'm stoked about this move. I like the UFC and all but for some reason I always enjoy Strikeforce adding a big time name and giving the UFC some competition.

Supposedly the right to match the UFC has with their contracts has passed, so if Hendo wants to go elsewhere he can at will.

Brock got a shot with a 2-1 record. And his one meaningful win was against Herring.

Compared to Brock, Vitor should get a title shot in every division. Multiple times.

^ Yeah, there really is no rhyme or reason to title shots in the UFC. Anderson Silva beat Chris Leben and got a shot.

Also speculation that Henderson's next opponent would be Coleman at 205.

He'd demolish Coleman. Coleman doesn't have the gas tank to hang with him.

Nice to see him stay with the UFC. Get it worked out.

I guess Hendo will fight Mousasi?

There is no doubt in my mind that Coleman was on the juice.

^ Well in related news Oleg Taktarov recently said that Coleman's KO loss to Pete Williams was due to him cycling off steroids and suffering an energy/adrenaline slump as a result.

Hendo will finish his career in the UFC but I'm surprised he's considering light heavyweight again.

I'm not. Hendo isn't a fan of cutting weight. He doesn't have to cut for LHW and he is a game opponent for almost anyone in that division.

He thinks he beat Rampage so I can see his reasoning there but I've been of the opinion (as if my opinion mattered, which it doesn't) that if you can make a lower weight class that's where you should be fighting. Hendo did well at MW, probably better than he would've fared at LHW, and for all he knows he's going to run into Silva again at LHW--why not do it for a title at MW?

I think he deserves another shot. If they aren't going to give him one, they should give him something @ 205 to help him get closer to the big boys up there. Coleman isn't that, but maybe Dan wants an easy matchup? Maybe he gets the winner of Belfort/Silva?
