Actually, I said that this really was beginning to concern me. This doesn't mean that I was not concerned prior to this thread. Tonight just upped the ante, I guess. :devilwink:

I was ecstatic. I still want to be ecstatic. I'm not ecstatic right now. :dunno:

    Yes.

Criticizing Steve Blake is OK. Stay in the safe zone, and don't dare wonder about Andre Miller. :ghoti:

I'm not wondering about him. I know what he is. He'll average 5-6 apg and score about 15ppg getting to the line a lot. But he needs to get used to his teammates and they need to get used to him. It's not a lot different than a new quarterback learning his receivers.

Regardless he's better than Steve and Steve is better than Sergio so we are better at the position. It's not about staying in safe Zones or anything, I haven't been posting here enough to know where those zones are. For all I know the reason you seem to dislike Andre is because Steve is your Neighbor and you feel bad for him.

Incorrect. I want the Miller that I thought the Blazers were signing to start. One who would take less shots because he's finally playing with more talented players than he's ever led before.

It should be of concern. He has the skills or the makeup that not all guys have at that position and I'm not sure he is using every tool he has.

All I know PapaG is that I'm beginning to become concerned about your fetish with Miller, his stat line and "the way he looks"

Sure if he's the team's leading shot taker (or in the top 3) after a month of regular season play then I can see "becoming concerned," but this? C'mon man.

I am becoming concerned with the number of people concerned with PapaG's concerns. Haven't you all heard, he wears a helmet inside?

Papa is becoming a troll. Where was Blake's assists? Where was BAYLESS' assists? Were you even at the game? I was and Andre ran the O very well and was a much better defender than Blake was. Stat lines don't always tell the whole story. They don't tell how Blake was chasing Billups around the court all night and how Miller was able to stay in front of him. Who was at PG when Portland got back into the game? Who led Portland in scoring also? It must have been Steve Blake!

I don't necessarily see the problem here. The OP seemed to me to be a poster's suggestion that he's concerned that our "pass-first" PG pickup of the offseason shot 18 times and had 4 assists.

Personally, i might've said something to the effect of what's already been said: namely, I'm not that concerned when I see that very few of the team's shots were falling, so his assists were down. He shot an above-average amount of FGs, but I think it's ok since Roy, LMA and Oden didn't play that much.

Overall, i'd say that the boxscore calls for concern--but when you look a bit deeper the concern should melt a tiny bit, until you see differences or not in the next game. :dunno: Not necessarily "trollish" behavior.

The lineup he shot the most in was with Miller, Blake, Webster, Howard and Pryz on the floor. The ONLY guy in that lineup capable of creating his own shot was Miller. What else was he supposed to do?

Nate is putting Miller in positions where he has to score. And that is what Miller is trying to do.

The back court pairing of Blake and Miller is horrific. I am hoping I don't see it once during the regular season. Unfortunately, I think I probably will.

To my Ear and box score interpretation ability Bayless has actually been more effective for us than Blake.

As usual, you fail to see the big picture due to your poor grasp of the basic fundamentals of team play.

Miller's ballhogging and poor (and usually last second) passing, along with his inability to score from outside to spread the defense are the reasons most of our reliable scorers are having the worst pre-season of their lives.

He's a square peg that's going to bring down this team just as he brought down the last 4 he played for.

Prior to tonight? Why not use current stats?

WTF are you having to edit and pre-select stats for to support your arguement?

PG should be no higher than 5th in shot attempts per game, or it's ludicrous to refer to him as a pass-first or facilitator.

    Fail.

Miller played PG for 38 minutes.

Your arguement is empty and ill-informed.
