If Greg continues to make these big strides, how would the triangle offense work with this roster?

It seems like an offense tailor-made for Brandon Roy.

Phil Jackson is done after this laker stint. I can't think of another coach in the league with his stature that runs the triangle.

_ _ _ _'s head would explode if he tried to figure out how to run the triangle offense.

Has there been a single coach in the league that has run the triangle other than Phil Jackson?

Perhaps _ _ _ _ could poach Tex Winter away from Phil. Then he wouldn't have to figure it out; he could have a real coach do the hard part.

No, MY head would explode if we got Tex Winter. We might as well poach Tom Thibedeau as well and start sizing rings. If we had Tex Winter we would sail to a championship. I have no doubt about it.

Add Winter, Thibedeau or Poppovich and this squad is unstoppable.

It's an interesting thought running the triangle. It seems to me it works better for slower teams that are veteran loaded. Maybe in a few years...

Rambis is going to try and use in Minnisota.

Good Luck, Mr. Rambis. You will need it.

I have been meaning to read the book that explains what the triangle is.

I have heard folks talk about it and it sure seems like you need a collection of very smart players to make it work.

From my limited understanding of it, you don't need a bunch of "very smart players", but that it's like the Princeton offense in that there's a lot of motion, and you have to have situational awareness of what's going on on-the-fly, as well as what the playbook says each of the cutters/etc. can do.

Not so much that we need geniuses, but almost everyone becomes a quarterback, rather than, say, a wide receiver who just needs to know his routes.

Didn't Quinn Buckner try it in Dallas? Or was it Jim Cleamons.

Man your avatar is causing cognitive dissonance. Why would Brandon wear a shirt with the Blazers logo and then talk about his love of LA! That shirt should be banned and burned possibly in front of huge crowds with 3500 square foot blazer logo banners draped on the walls and goose stepping Blazer dancers. It's time us fans got serious about what we believe in!

Those other teams that have tried the triangle, have all failed for one reason............. you need an MJ or Kobe type player for it to succeed.

Portland has several plays that were put in last year which are based on the triangle offense. They are actually running more of it now that Greg is coming along. So in short, yes, they can run it, they are already running pieces of it.
