This guy looks great. He gets to the rim at will and can finish. He's a pitbull on both ends. On top of that he has good court vision and PG skills. How is Bayless a better prospect than this guy?
You're right, he can't possibly be a better prospect after one pre-season game. What were we thinking?
I didn't make my assumption off of the pre-season. Lawson can score but also has PG skills. Bayless is a SG whom we are trying to force to play PG.
Denver got a nice player. Its too bad he didnt fall another four spots. I wonder if we would have took him.
I was not pleased when I heard the Nuggs had grabbed him in a trade. I wonder if KP even made a play for the kid? If he didn't, it just reinforces my belief that he was off his game on draft day.
I tell you what. I think KP has struggled closing trades in the last year or so. He didn't have one trade in the offseason and it wasn't due to a lack of trying. The week before they signed Andre, he appeared spent to me. Watching him interviewed at the summer league, he just look like a defeated man. He seemed that way then but I also got a lil bit of that last year at the trade deadline. I wonder if he has what it takes to close the deal on a trade. Im starting to have my concerns.
I know he's short and he played for the North-South oriented, run-n-gun Tarheels, but I wanted KP to draft him if at all possible ... I still don't know what his projection is long term, but my guess is that he'll turn out to be a better pro than Ray Felton, for instance.
KP had targeted Lawson, but was unable to trade up for him. I think he'd be a good fit for this team.
That's an interesting thought. I happen to think pretty highly of Lawson, but there are a lot of similarities.
TJ Ford is a nice player, just has those injury concerns. If Lawson were a healthy version of Ford, the Nuggets will have themselves a nice replacement for Billups, when Billups' tenure with Denver is done.
